I wrote this last night about midnight, I could not sleep as my back was bothering me.  I did not know if this was proper media to be posting her so I sent it to timberghozt.  I'm not going to apologize for this content because it comes straight from my heart, and it is truly how I feel, America love it, be p repaired to give you life for her or leave it.  I am proud of the fact that I'm fortunate to be an AMERICAN, and I am DAMN proud to defend her, and posibly give my life for her.

What is an American Patriot

First lets start off with definitions
Militias
An army composed of ordinary citizens rather than professional soldiers.
A military force that is not part of a regular army and is subject to call for service in an emergency.
The whole body of physically fit civilians eligible by law for military service.
Patriotism
Patriotism is a love of and loyalty to one's country. A patriot is someone who loves, supports, and is prepared to serve their country.
second amendment

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed
How do all of these go together you might ask.  During the Revolutionary war much of it was fought with militias, ordinary citizen wit little to no military training.  What this means today, The national guard is loosely thought of as being the equivalent of the militias form days  gone by but the National guard is a part of either the Army or the Air Force, and is commanded by both the state and the feral government. But when you look at the definition it is "An army composed of ordinary citizens rather than professional soldiers."  This would rule out the National Guard, and make civilians be the be the militia that is subject to call for service.  This is not to be confused wit some of the nut job militias that seem to give the term a bad mane. This bring me to patriotism  if you are a patriot you would be a willing member of this civilian militias to help protect your county in time of them needing you.  If you truly love your country you would not take your freedoms we all cherish but would be willing to fight and give your life so other my enjoy our freedom.  If you so not love your country enough to lay your life down for her then I suggest you leave and find another place to live.  This my sound harsh but if you do truly love  America this is a easy choose.  I'm not saying that everybody need to go star a malicious organization, what I'm saying is  WE may some day need to be the first line of defense if we should get attacked again.  If you are a patriot  you would do everything you could to stop a aircraft form crashing into  a target, you take up arms if we were attacked by ground forces.  I believe everybody has a "right" to help protect our great nation.  If you love this place you will.

Bandit,

I keep telling people that I am well trained and well organized Militia of One!.

When I entered military service I swore an oath that contained this line:

I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic

Thus this is my view on what is a patriot:

A true patriot defends his home, his community, his country.

As that I have the time and the resources, I practice with my AR-15 HBAR NM, My M1A and my M1A that has been turned in to a civilian form of the M21 Sniper rifle on a regular basis. Every so often I re-familiarize myself with the AK and the SKS, as that I don't any of the weapons of the former Soviet block, I only get to shoot them when friends who own these weapons come over to shoot on my range.

The Second Amendment was recently reaffirmed as the basis of my right to own a firearm, but I knew that this part of the U.S. Constitution has always stood proud.

So as what has been said to represent my right to Keep and Bear Arms, as publically stated by Charlton Heston...“from my cold dead hands.”

Jerry

I take that oath just as serois as my wedding vowes

A true patriot defends his home, his community, his country.
That too I agree, I let my wife read this post and she is normally real quick to say that I am to harsh but she said I hit the nail on the head.
My chain of command goes as follows
1. GOD
2. Country
3. Service
4. Family

The Second Amendment was recently reaffirmed as the basis of my right to own a firearm, but I knew that this part of the U.S. Constitution has always stood proud.

The dumb ass for no voters need to read the dictionary and find what the true meaning of what a militia is, then they would realize how wrong they are.
By regulating guns you are taking
away vital national security.

Bandit,

I have passed the age for even being called back if the whole country collapsed, even then I would get some assignment like teaching in Kansas. My Mob Des expired 4 years ago.

God is between me and God, I say Onward Christian Soldiers, but some of my friends believe in God but are not Christians, some do not believe in God, but believe in other faiths, so in the U.S. to each their own for this is the land that granted religious freedom along time ago.

My family is my community, my children and their families are always welcome in my home, but my community is also welcome in my home. I live so far out of the beaten path that the county government doesn't really know we exist. So we as a community have banded together. After 4 years of living here 20 miles further away than BFE, people honk when they drive by my place to say hi, everybody is welcome to stop in and enjoy a glass of ice tea. These days they stop in daily.

If I dialed 911 and the Sheriff's department needed to come out, that would be a 20 minute wait, a lot can happen in 20 minutes. On the other hand, the fire departmant and two squard are 8/10 of a mile or 1.3 klicks away.

Instead of wearing ACUs, I wear more practical clothing for my area, such as Carhart denim. When I need to be seen, I wear my blaze orange field jacket, when I want to walk through the woods some what unseen, I have BDUs that my middle son gave me while he was in the service. Then I have the knowledge to make a ghillie suit. But I don't think thing will get that bad.

As far as my country, I can only protect and defend the area that is within my reach, then the next person has their area to protect and defend, then the next person and the next person and the circle will be unbroken if we all have faith in our country.

Ohio has it's own Militia, called the Ohio Military Reserve, they are folks that special duties and can not pass the physical to be in the reserves. They have convey duty at the present time, but they take over is the Guard is federalized.

Here is who they are: http://ohmr.ohio.gov/

and the definition of their mission:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_Military_Reserve

The real Patriot is the person who will defend this country no matter his or her background, no matter their faith, and will put the good of people ahead of the good of their personal lives.

Whether I am a patriot or not, I am a Militia of One. Standing guard in the name of freedom.

Jerry

prior to the attack on pearl harbor, the japanese high command asked Yamamoto if invasion of America was possible, his reply was that most Americans had guns and there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass!

Isoroku Yamamoto was educated in the United States at Harvard!

I have long been a believer that FREEDOM is a cost to be carried by all, from the mother who grieves for a son sent to war, a child who misses his parent who is away fighting for freedoms cause.A wife who weeps at the casket of her fallen husband and shudders at the sound of 7 guns firing for her husband as his brothers pay their last respects...
America is an extremely proud country and I would wager 90 percent of her men and women would pick up a rifle to defend our homeland..I would hope so at least.I know anyone in my family would..
I own a lot of weapons,:wink:how many I won`t release in public but enough to start a third world country`s rebellion is about right:lol:
Do I own them in fear would be invaded?
NO
Anyone who would attempt such a thing would summarily have their rear end whooped..I own mine, because I can..
I have fought in two wars for my country, and I think I am done fighting wars..iT IS MY QUIET time now,to grow old and enjoy life..yet I still look at the faces of the young men ,my brothers who are leaving to go again and answer the call of freedom for the oppressed in Iraq and ASTAN..It is with teary eyes that I wish I too was going with them once more...
Everyone tells me,"Gene, you`ve done your share"
but I dont look at it that way.If I am healthy and able it is my duty as an American.
Whether I believe in if a war is just it matters not(btw,I do believe IRAQ is a just war and many great strides have been made there)
One thing I have learned as a Scout and an Infantryman is that the guys who do the jobs across the water, they dont do it for the money.Hell I
could make 5 times what I made as a grunt working for BlackWater or ArmourGroup..
we all did it from a sense of patriotism, rest assured patriotism is alive and well in your armed forces gents..
and it is alive and well here at home,I cant count how many times I have been thanked for my service to America since I`ve been home from Iraq and each time it fills me pride to know there are patriots left in America, who believe in her and belive in her fighting men..
Good write Black Tailed Bandit
