All depends on what is considered "success"?
If it stands to reason that success is measured from him spreading the word that we here in the USA are willing to jump into bed with the NATO folks....I'd have to say he succeeded with that!
If the message was we are willing to "police the world"....I'd have to say he succeeded with that too.
If he went looking for friends to help pay our bills in the "Fight against Terror"....I think he failed.

Most of the modern world and the not so modern world owe the United States large sums of money.
Does anyone remember what Kuwait promised for saving their butts?
Only one country has repaid their WW II debt to the U.S. with interest.
Would Europe be called Germania if the U.S. hadn't entered WW II?
How about all of the times the U.S. helped countries, even unfriendly countries, in a time of natural disaster?
Yes the world financial mess is mostly the fault of the U.S., but whose Military is in over 130 countries trying to stabilize the world and has for decades, did anyone say France?
The Marshall Plan helped rebuild war torn Europe and Japan, while American industry didn't modernize, where are those countries when American Industry needs their help?
Lots of question, very few answers that would benefit the U.S.

The US has few friends,true ones..
England,Canada,Australia,Israel..about all I can think of
with England and Israel at the top..
If it wasn`t for us,most of the world would be either speaking German and living in fear of the Gestapo or SS..
Or be speaking Russian and Chinese while we greeted each other with.,"Hello Comrade".
In my humble opinion.FTW...Take care of our own and the few friends we have,let the rest of em fend for themselves...

Make an offer to those countries that owe the U.S. a lot of money, they have until October 1 to replay the pricinple of all of their loans and the interest will be forgiven.
Other wise we seize their assests in the United States.
