Announcing a formal Monthly NRA Basic Metallic Reloading course in South Central Kansas (Wichita area).

The December class is currently planned for Sunday, December 6th and will be held at my residence in Park City, Kansas.  This is a small community just north of Wichita.

There are a total of 5 seats available. It will run from 9 a.m. to around 5 p.m. and will be the complete NRA "Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course". There is a tremendous amount of information to be imparted and it takes the better part of 8 hours to teach.

Taking this course won't make you an "Expert Reloader" but it will certainly carry you a ways down the road in that direction and hopefully help you avoid the mistakes and pitfalls encountered by others.

Upon completion, each student will have a good understanding of the aspects of safe reloading and as part of the practical exercise with each class, everyone will get "hands-on" practice in setting up and adjusting the equipment as well as actually reloading both rifle and handgun ammunition.

Just because you don't currently have any reloading equipment shouldn't keep you from taking this course. After completing it, you will have a much better idea of what type of equipment you'll actually need and that information could very well save you quite a bit of money in the long run. Part of the course includes a discussion of the operation and costs of the various types of equipment currently available, ranging from the simple, inexpensive set-ups to the more complex.

The cost for this 8 hour class will be $50 per student and will include all materials and the use of my equipment for the practical exercise.  Each student should bring their choice of a reloading manual if they have one. Students will also be required to bring pens, pencils, notepaper and most of all SAFETY GLASSES.

Anyone interested in taking the course please PM me or email me via the forum to sign up or request more information. If the response to the preceeding classes is any indication, this one will fill up quickly so sign up early.   If there is sufficient interest, more than one class can be held in a given month.

I realize this is pretty much a narrow, regional topic, but it's posted with the board founders' permission.

Thanks,
Jim Sheldon  kscchtrainer

RDMy Pleasure, and in keeping with WildBill's suggestion, I posted instructions on how someone can become an NRA certified reloading instructor.  Maybe we can get more regions into this kind of teaching.  It's certainly needed in these trying times of ammo shortages.

By the way, I'm seeing components coming back on the shelves slowly, but they are coming back so I'm pretty sure reloading will continue to be more viable as time progresses.

Will there be a Febuary class, or ony more at all? I have not had any formal training in the reloading area. Sounds like a good class to attend.

No February classes because I got tagged to be on standby for Federal jury duty for the whole month of Feb.

I do plan on at least one and probably two classes in March though.  Also, as long as there is interest, I'll run at least one class a month.

Class size limit is 5 and it isn't practical for me to teach it with less than 3.

PM me through the forum with an email address or email to w0eb@cox.net (that's a zero, not a capital O) for further details.  That way I can easily send you class dates when they are firmed up.

Jim
