I started out on an old Lyman turret press.It was old then.As far as I know the  guy who taught me to handload is still cranking out 308 Norma Mag,221 Fireball and 8mm Rem Mag on it still.
Lets hear what you started this addiction on?:thumbs:

RCBS jr. I passed it on to another guy, just starting out. I just told him to pass it to someone else when he upgraded equipment.

Back around 1970 my brother traded a buzz box welder for a lyman spartan press. He gave it to me and that is the press I learned to reload on.

An RCBS Jr that I gave to a friend years later, keeping a used RCBS Rockchucker that I'd purchased, thinking that I only needed one press.

An old Behr press borrowed from a friend 20 years ago. He's never asked for it back and I haven't offered. :wink: RD

Unknown brand all in one pliers type, belonged to my great uncle, this was in '55, I had a .31 Colt mold from my grandfather and my cousin had the press from his and his had given my cousin the SS Stevens .32 20, converted from .32 RF by someone way back there.
I made the bullets and then helped my cousin load.
Damn, I feel old!

I started out with a hand held Lee Loader for 22-250. Then My uncle gave me his press. It was called a "Cobra". It was shaped like the head "hood" of a cobra and was made out of something like forged aluminum. He gave me his RCBS 7mm mag dies too. I ended up buying a 7 mag rifle to go along with the dies ! It was gung ho from there. More presses,dies, guns.... Don't even know how many calibers I load for know but it has to be at least 15 or more. Wished I had the time to more of it and shoot more like I did when I was younger :( Started reloading at age 16.

I learned on a Lyman Spartan.  Passed it on have since upgraded and also picked up a few other presses.  Next comes a bigger room for the reloading stuff. But gotta convince the wife that I really do need that 40x60 shed for reloading a few other goodies. :lol:

  Take care Be safe Poacher.

Lyman Spartan T Mag Turret press. Handed to me by my best friends Dad. He bought it new in the early 70's. I got it 2000 and still use it, haven't found a good enough reason to buy  new one.

Fella's;

I  also started on a RCBS Jr., fine little unit as far as I'm concerned.  I'm now reloading on a rockchucker & a Dillon RL550B.
