I fired off my first rifle handloads this weekend. I have to say I was a little nervous firing that first round compared to my previous pistol loads. But all went well. Best 100 yard group of the day was .582" (after subtracting the caliber). Two of the bullets went through that upper hole.

150gr Nosler Partition .308, 42.0gr IMR-3031, Rem No 9 1/2 primer, COAL 2.765"
Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308 Win 26" Heavy
Cold, rainy, crappy day, but no wind

With factory match ammo I get .45" groups, so I still have some work to do. It was too wet to set up the chrony, but I'll get some readings next time. 42 grains was a moderate load so I wasn't worried about pressure.

Well done!

I would not change much in that load but shoot it again when the weather is better.

I only would consider taking the Nosler Accubond instead of the Partition; Up to my opinion the Accubond can do everything the Partition can, is cheaper and more accurate in my - and my friends rifles.

Thanks, I'll try some Accubonds. I'm really enjoying Nosler bullets so far, they seem accurate and reasonable in price.
