Truvelo is a South African company with two divisions. One side deals with traffic control items, such as stoplight cameras and radar guns. The other side deals with firearms. One of their products is the SR50BMG, or in metric speak SR12.7x99mm.
This "heavy sniper" or "anti-material" rifle was developed by Truvelo in the late 1990s. Like many other large caliber sniper rifles, this one is intended mostly for counter sniper role and anti-material work against unarmored vehicles, installations etc. The claimed accuracy with appropriate ammunition is 1 MOA, effective range is about 1500 meters but could be lethal at much longer ranges.
The Truvelo SR50 uses a simple metallic "backbone" on which all other parts are mounted. The massive receiver is made of steel, the rotating bolt of the Truvelo design has two frontal locking lugs, and one rear locking lug, plus a cocking handle that acts as a second rear locking lug for a solid lock. The heavy, free-floated barrel features a large muzzle brake, which is a must-have item when firing powerful ammunition. The Truvelo SR50 rifle is available in simple single shot configuration or equipped with a large removable box magazine that holds 5 rounds for a faster practical rate of fire.
The rifle has no conventional stock and is intended to be fired from it's bipod only. The butt is fitted with a recoil pad and is mounted on the aluminium alloy "backbone". An additional vertical grip is located under the adjustable cheek pad for a more comfortable hold. While the rifle has no open sights it's equipped with the universal rail / scope mount at the top of the receiver.
Weight - 35lbs
Barrel - 39inches

Lotsa questions, like how does it stack up against the Barret, accuracywise, and pricewise, and is it available in the US? Looks interesting.

You could really reach out and touch someone with that rifle.

Ghrit, I couldn't find much info on this rifle, but did find a price of $5k for the single shot and $8k for the repeater. Don't have any idea if that's US currency or other.
Supposedly the SR50 is 'rarely' found outside of South Africa.
