Number 2 son worked with his recruiter (Hell, he worked with a whole TEAM of 'em) for six months before he went to boot camp. Did PT 3 times week. His college grades sucked because of it, but he got into pretty decent shape before he left.

BLACK6 and the fellas at AirborneRanger.com have a mentor program for recruits that is excellent..
We have a mentor program similar to theirs for Scouts at CavalryScouts.Com that is shaping up to be excellent..
As far as a SF type mentor program online,I have no idea.
I despise military.com`s message boards but you might try something there.
I can tell you now if you intend to go to SF,you need to be doing PT already and working as hard as you can at it.It would benefit the hell out of you if you could max the APFT before you get to infantry OSUT at Benning let alone before you get to the SF qualification course.
You need a 110 gt score also for SF so be brushing up on the ASVAB.I think Zonk probably already told ya this but I am seconding it as useful info to help you....

I see that you dropped your “Special Forces” image from your sig line. Good decision.

Next step consider changing your user name to “Future US Soldier”……………

I invite you to look around at the following link if you have an interest in S.F.......

Before you even consider registering or posting on the site READ THE FORUM RULES, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION (to look for answers to your questions) and THINK BEFORE YOU POST YOUR INTRO. (Look at some other DEP intros prior) Address Rangers as such. Do not just look at that section though. Use the entire forum site.

There is little tolerance for ignorance and expect no slack, but there is a wealth of knowledge and somebody might even be willing to adopt your cherry ass through the entire process………………

I’ll be watching for you should you decide to take that leap!

Something you might want to do is go to prairiewolf.net and get copies of 'Naked into the Wilderness' both 1 and 2 to study and if you are able to make the trip to Kansas you might even contact the author through that website and see if he would be willing to give you some private classes if you are serious about SF.  His name is John McPhearson and the military sends the SEER instructors to take survival classes from him a couple times a year so they can teach those tecnieques to the SF in survival school.  He was also airborn when he was in the military in Nam.  He may take you on if he's convinced your serious and in adition to the fact that the info could be invaluable Im sure it couldnt hurt to let it be known to the recruiters or have it in your file that you have studied under the same person they send their instructors to study under.  The books are also top notch as are the vidios and even if you cant meet him and learn in person knowing the info from his books (a large part of what he teaches the SF guys when they are there) could save your life and would definatly put you ahead of the curve if you do go into SF.

OK heres the rub all you internet commandos;

Anyone who wishes to help guide my sons (especially along the path) feel free to constuctively do so; when you threaten them then you are stepping on me and mine - you must know I cannot allow this.

First: some sons don't listen too their fathers, and some even listen to the wrong things while ignoring the stuff you want them to learn.

Second: I was %90 injured while serving my this grand country of ours (never mind where, when - some of you understand that one) or my son would have been a little further along 'the path' then he is -  it is difficult to listen to a crippled old man who can't prove much of his prior skills and knowledge by showing and doing.

The one most inportant rule I can remember from my days in the dirt was that we were loyal to each other and the great respect you mention Zonk was always double for a fallen member and his family was VERY WELL taken care of (including treated with more respect then you have shown to my son in your ridiculous waist of time PM's).

If you are for real then think about how you take care of the ones from the unit who can not 'take care of "things"' them selves?  Now you can understand why I have rewritten this post about eight times:

Besides all that I wanted to write (and the little bit I have) I must say that none of the guys from my unit would bother with telling off a teenager on the internet- too low class a move to get involved with.  But to tell off the son of disabled vet because he wants to follow in his dad's foot steps :shameon: .  I know you were taught to check your target before termination, but if you are too lazy to do that then maybe you should just pay more attention to the details of your team and less to the ramblings a kid on the internet - then they would have a more attentive member they could count on and you would not indanger both our units with an interunit rivalry this country does not need right now. (or ever)

You already got him to change his user name (which I told him when he started here) and also his chosen banner (against my advice) so you win this round - let's NOT have another round cuz it will likely not end on the internet.

Not totally sure on your intentions.

One thing I will make perfectly clear is that Zonk is the real thing.

As far as "interunit rivalry" there always has been and always will be. Between branch, unit, company, plt, even down to the squad and team level, so the statment you made is out of line especially when you make it sound as a threat.

If you are haveing problems controling your household, do not take it out on us. The question was asked and we answered, if you don't like it CONTROL YOUR HOUSE. (you can unplug the computer, maybe passwords, I don't care)

You open your statment with "stepping on me and mine" talking about threats, did someone say that were going to beat someone up? Cause bodily harm? Or did was it that yours was told something they didn't like, and they got boo-boo faced? Always rember, respect is not given it is earned. I respect your service, that respect does not extend "by proxy" to anyone esle, especially a child when they are seeking knowledge I/We have. Speaking of which what unit were you in that did secret squirel activities that disabled you 90%, I am haveing some troubles with that one. PM me with your unit, and a date, nothing else. I can look up everything else on the computer in the vault.

Lastly (and not because I am running out of things to say, but because I am getting bored and tired) you talk of "internet commandos" then you say and I do quote "lets not have another round cuz it will likely not end on the internet." Is this a threat? truely sad, another internet tough guy.

As far as the innocent bystanders, sorry, but I did not ask if I could help someone get into the Army, I just told them to play by the rules. And I and my brothers have a low tolerance for ingnorance.

For one you need to learn how to spell "remember" espescically since you like to tell others, to pay attention to details but look you don't. Also I never asked to be yelled at, I made this topic for Timberghozt, Monkeyman people with useful knowledge not to tell me to go to another site and to signup and shutup and watch cause I will not. So after this post I'm asking TimberGhozt if he'll cancel my acount becuase it look's like I opened a can of dog poo, and when all I did was try to support my Country and get some good reloading advice from these guys.

just a note from the sidelines - it would probably be best if no one try to play spelling and grammar expert. all of us misspell or mistype something at one time or another, and to start pointing fingers about spelling opens up a can of worms that will only stink as they spill out. for example, FUSS, when you corrected Black 6 for "remember," you turned around and spelled "especially" very incorrectly.that's all i have to say - i'm out, for now.

Yes, I am aware of how to spell, does it make you feel bigger, more like a man to point out the "em" that was missing? Well you’re a big boy now. And I warned you that that site plays by different rules. Now your turn to pay attention to detail again, instead of YOU addressing the issue on the site that you got boo-boo faced over, your father had to come here. He made threats because you couldn't handle some pm's. If getting talked to strongly and told to search and be quiet gets to you, you won’t make it in the Regt, nor the SF with all of the training that is required before you make a team.  So pay attention, it was your father’s post that started anything here, and I was responding to him. You could have just said, "I don't want to abide by your rules so I no longer want your help" that would have been that. Honestly I don't care if you ask to be deleted, but that is a knee jerk, I am a spoiled brat so I am going to pout reaction. If you want to runaway, go ahead. I know some on this board are not going to like this statement, but to them I say, it is my opinion and it is current my right to state it, thanks to the veterans that ensured it. While I may be using strong words, I have made no threats and there are no posted SOPs for guidance.

This board is a good place to get information whether or not you use it, that is up to you.

The way we conduct ourselves on the other board is very different than here, and out of respect for this board, we keep it there (unless asked to do so)

I am still waiting for the information on the super secret squirrel unit.

PS: If your going to jump me on my “em” please use spell check. (I will give you "poo" as you were only being polite)
