| Does anyone here load for a 16 bore?I have all the tools but Im looking for advice on shot size and weight.Im having a problem with coyotes at night and as I live in the woods a shotgun seems to be my best choice. The largest shot I have at the moment is #4 and some 00 buck.00 buck wont stack well in a 16 plastic wad cup as 2 pellets are wider then the base of the cup.#4 isnt really big enough.Data is really sparse for 16s and even more so for the larger sized pellets.Im thinking around BB maybe BBB.Any ideas of what stacks well in a 16 cup?Should I use regular wads or go with teflon slips and fiber wads?Maybe a steel wad with buffer?Any ideas would be appreciated...Robin

I load very little 16 Gauge, but you could try what I do for some Buck loads in 12 Gauge. I use a regular wad and cut the petals off. That allows for a three-stack of 00 or a two-stack of 000. In a 16, it should give you a two-stack of 00. Works pretty good.
BBB, T or F shot all should work pretty well for coyote. Longer range, I'd prefer the F over the other two.

#1 buck is standard for the 16 gauge....most Lyman manuals have reloading data for it.
Depending on your shotgun, hevishot might be an alternative as well.....
As far as using BBs, #2s, ect....you can probably get a 1 1/4 oz load with these pellets, but it wont be as fast as a 12 gauge load might be......personally, I'd stick with #1 buck (if legal).
