Hello all,

I have had a O/U 410 gauge shotgun for a while now I got it in a trade. Its a pretty neat gun. Anyhow I have no clue who made it. The only identifiying marks on it is on the top of the reciever say Atlas Model 65 - and on the underside of the barrel says Made in Italy. It came with a custom leather breakdown carrying case with blue felt on the inside. It has to have been made in the 20's or 30's I would guess by the style of it.

The shotgun has a 2 trigger system, no ejection hammers (pull the shells out mannually) blued barrels and a case hardened reciever, walnut stock and forearm. I plan to post pictures on here when I can but if anyone has a clue to who made it or history of the gun or company I would appreciate it.

Please post a picture please.

I know, there are shotgun/rifle combinations around here, sold by the Kettner company in Koeln-Germany which are marked Atlas and made in Italy.

They have a .22Mag barrel on top, a 20 gauge smooth barrel and a colour hardened receiver and they look very much like the arm Savage makes.

A picture would be really great. A picture is worth a lot when it comes to identification of a fire arm.

I also have an unknown .410. It has black wood one piece stock and is a bolt action. It has no markings at all on it. The weird thing is it has a removable choke but it screws off on the outside instead of inside like most.

Your gun could have been made by an unknown business that went bankrupt. I know a lot of guns were made in the 1800's.

I don't know about the OP's Atlas, but that bolt gun sounds like a Mossberg with C-LECT Choke. Or maybe not. Any markings under the wood?

That isn't it. Mine has a more elongated trigger guard. Also back when the magazine worked it held more than three. The chokes are different too. I really think some guy made it and failed to sell it. I bought it at an auction. There are no markings on anything.
