I bought black cloud in size BB for geese and was wondering if it will work in my choke. The choke is rated for steel shot up to size BB (not recomended, rated). I just want to know if it is safe.

It likely is safe, what choke (how tight) is it? For BB's, I would stay arround Improved Cyl personally. Very easy to "overchoke" with big pellets, looser chokes actually seem to perform better downrange with steel/non-lead stuff.

Probably safe, but it is very possible to "over choke" a shot load. What happens is that the choke constricts the column and (you can visualize) the pellets on one side of the column actually be directed to the other side of the pattern rather than deflecting toward the center. Wads will perform differently in that regard, you will very quickly be in experiment mode --

OldStuffer hit that one right.

I tried it and it worked fine. It doesn't pattern good, but it is enough. Right now i'm working on a 3 1/2" steel load.

Hull- Rem 3 1/2"
Primer- Fed 209 or Fed 209A
Powder- 45gr STEEL
Wad- BPI MM 3.5"
Shot- 1 1/4 oz. #2 steel
Other- 3/8" felt spacer

Vel- 1600 FPS
Pres- 13000 PSI

Im hoping this faster load will pattern better in my modified choke.
