One of the great things about the .308 Win is that it can be wonderfully accurate with a wide variety of propellants. Just check your loading books and you'll find plenty of suggested propellants that work well. If you try something that you think isn't accurate enough, look for the problem in bullet, your rifle and, especially, your marksmanship.

With that set of powders, you pretty well have .308 covered.

Very nice shooting.

Thank you. The rifle does seem to shoot good. When I can get back out to the club and finish fire forming the remaining 40 cases, I wil try setting the bullet back into the case to determine if it will shoot with a little jump to the lands.

I use IMR 4895 and IMR 4064. The 4064 comes into it's own with the 175 SMK's.

I have shot groups with it that I'm scared to post here!

What type of .308 are you shooting these scary groups with?

First with a custom rifle, mod 700 action that is blueprinted, it has a Shilen SM bbl 24" with a 1-12 twist HV contour in a BR stock, 40X trigger at 2 oz and 24X leupold BR scope. My M1A Super Match will shoot around .6 with similar loads of the 175 gr. Sierra MK and 42.2 gr. of IMR 4064 with a suitable scope mounted on it...my old eyes aren't good enough to do that with iron sights. :shameon:
