I see at Powder Valley they have Wolf SR and 223 primers listed separately.
What is the difference?
Thanks and have a good 'un, Guy

Guy, I believe that the 223 primers have a thicker cup for use in semi autos. Supposed to prevent slam fires..
I have never had a slamfire in my B-master, or Mini14.. I wonder if some of them could have been caused by high primer seating???

Slam fires have been reported on numerous occasions in AR-15's, CCI also makes and markets primers with harder (thicker) cups in order to prevent slam fires. The primers used in military ammo has a thicker cup on account of the floating firing pin in the military weapons, which our military has concluded is the cause of the slam fires.

I have experienced slam fires in my Bushmaster M17S using only the Winchester 45 grain 'Varmint' loads - all other commercial and surplus loads work fine. So I avoid using the Winny ammo.
I recently bought 5,000 Wolf SRM primers from Widener's for $28/1,000. That'll keep my Bushpup well fed!
Haven't had the chance to try them yet, but I have loaded a few 20-round boxes to try.
