Hi.I recently found some .45 bullets at 15.00 for 200.They are mostly what I like to shoot in my saa.250 gr. sized .452 rnfp some magma blue lube...but they have a bhn of aprox.14.Where on the scale of too soft - too hard is bhn 14.Seems like a real good price But am I going to have leading problems>...Robin

lyman #2 is at 15. if you have a colt or copy you wont need any harder bullet.they should not be loaded as a magnum.many manuals show different levels of pressure limits. an oversize cylinder may require a softer one,or an oversize bullet that fits the cylinder, rather than groove dia.the damm hard lubes that the commercial casters use will be the biggest problem.also a fixed rear sight will possibly require some velocity experimentation to get the thing to hit where you want.

They are just right for most basic 45s. I use a lot of Lyman #1, but many people just use WWs.

here is a simple chart of hardness for lead and the alloys for bullets

Lead                     5

Lyman #2            15

WW                     12

Lino                      22

There are ways to harden lead further, but that is for another thread.
