I recently got a pound of Varget. What primers do you all use? Cal. is 22-250. Some readings say Varget is harder to ignite, some not. Thanks

I use a BUNCH of Varget..CCI BR 2 primers in my son`s custom mauser 308, Win SR primers in my 223 REM and 223 Ackley Improved, in my 7x57, and Fed 210 m primers in my 308 Win..
Varget lights just fine any good primer will work

My 22-250 likes WLR or CCI with Varget, and my AR uses CCI 400 with Varget...never had a problem with any of the 3

I haven't used much Varget, only about 24 pounds. In 22-250 I like the Federal large rifle match, I forget the number.

Any standard primer will work well with Varget. The hottest being Win standard primers being as hot as some magnum primers.

Varget is my only rifle powder now, I use the Federal SR and LR (205,210). I even use it in my 45-70 with 210M and have no troubles, and thats a large area of powder.
