I've used both...and both did what they were supposed to do. But when the I need to choose one over the other, I choose neither. My projectile of choice is the Remington Core-Lokt, it does just as good a cost is much less.
Now if we are whackin' bears, the Nosler Partition would be the projectile of choice.
Scott (why use premium when unleaded does the same thing) B

| Have to agree with Scott. Both will work, but so will most anyting else on whitetails. Why spend extra money with no extra benefit?

I would go for the Accubond; they work fine on a roe deer at 200 yards, and also on a wild boar of 85 kg.
I think about buying a 1000 from those and stick with them for my .308, just a pity they are not made in .224 cal.

| I used 180gr Accubond Blems on a cow elk in 2005 on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation with my 300wm sako and a leupold scope with 3 of the 4 erectors knocked loose in a fall I had coming down a steep slope it didn't hit at point of aim or even close but I got the elk. Depends on impact velocity.
The ballistic tips are designed to open up at lower impact velocities such as those found at longer ranges.
The Nosler Partitions, IMO, are workhorses good for a wide variety of circumstances and are what I use in my 30-06, 165 grain variety.
For deer, there are lots of fine bullets like all those already suggested.

| Would depend on what caliber, what cartridge, what weight of bullet and how far you are shooting. Narrow those things down and you will get a more definitive answer

| It has been my experience that premium bullets are neither necessary or desirable for deer. Medium weight, for caliber, cup and core bullets such as manufactured by Sierra, Hornady or Speer will give you the best terminal performance on deer. You'll be better off if you don't try to shoot deer with bullets designed for elk and moose.

| I'd definitely go with the partition in the .270 then. Past experinece has shown me there is a lot of meat destruction with 130's out of a .270. Especaiily the ballistic tip, even at those distances. Even with the partitions you might not be happy , but they certainly are not as explosive. Depends on what you want to end up with. Basically the faster you drive a bullet, the better construction it has to have.

| For Whitetail Deer the Bal Tip is all you need. For Elk i would choose the Partition. Nosler Partitions have almost doubled in price in the last few weeks, what a shame they where one of the most reasonable Premium bullet on the market, but not any longer.

I like both of these styles, but I also like the solids, I found with solids that I have less meat damage.
My middle son is working up a load in 308 with an A Square solid for Elk hunting this winter, but he may fall back on to the Barnes TSX. I like the TSX and the orgional X bullets.
Just my 5 cents worth, used to be 2 cents worth, but with hard times it takes more money to buy bullets.

| The most accurate bullet I've ever used is the precursor to the ballistic tip it's the Nosler 165gr solid base, put 5 in 7/16 inch at 100 yards from the bench with my bedded & tuned Sako 06.A friend uses the Nosler 165gr solid base bullet in his 300 Weatherby Mag on elk, mule deer & bear hasn't had any problems anchoring any of the species mentioned.

I would give the E Tips a try:
http://www.nosler.com/index.php?p=3&bullet=20
Now I am going to have buy a couple of boxes and spend the afternoon over in WV shooting at Deer.

| In Nosler 6th Edition Reloading Manual take 2gr off of the published max load for each powder for your new max load.I'm going to load some in 300wm using IMR 4831 the most accurate load tested was with 69gr the maxload is 71gr.No pressure spikes with nosler bullets.
