I was thinking about getting more bullets for my .270 win. I was looking at the nolser partition and the accubond in 150 grn, have any of you guys had experience with these? If I did use these though it'd be for elk or moose. Also how are the Interbonds? Would the work better or worse?
Thanks in adv. Tyler T.

I've shot a bunch of both out of my 270 wsm, 270 should give similar results, partition will hold together better than accubond, accubond will hold together better than ballistic tip. That is good on elk and moose, bad on deer. I use the BT only for varmints. I tend to use 130 or 140 accubond on deer and smaller. For elk the 150 partition is better than the accubond, if will not breakup as bad on bones. If I had to use 270 on moose, I'd use the 160 partition myself. I would recommend at least an /06 180 partition, for moose though.

Like Tas said pick whichever one shoots best in your rifle. Perhaps it could be the partition then again it might be the accubond. I have taken game with both and both perform very well. The accubond does open up well enough for deer and adds insurance if you are shooting at angles or on big northern deer. The same can be said for the partition and it has been doing it for 60+ years. Either way either bullet is a good choice. Try H-4831 or Rl-22 you should get excellent results with one of those powders and either of the 150's.

I prefer the solids for large North American game hunting. I have used Barnes and A Squares. I use the Barnes more due to price.

My Sako 270 prefers the Interlock 130 gr. and works great on mule deer. I have taken an elk with the Interlock in 308, 165 gr, also worked great. Have not taken game with the others. Both one shot kills.

I'd go with the partitions myself. Last edited on Tue Mar 17th, 2009 06:32 AM by IN.MY.SIGHTS
