Just received 10k (@ $23.00 per 1k) of the Wolf SR Mags this morning - finally.  Anyways, was told (or read somewhere) that the Wolf Small Rifle Magnum Primers spec'd out the same as the CCI 41s insomuch as the cups were thicker to prevent the slam fire issue yada yada yada.

Going to load these as magnum recipes naturally, but was wondering if anyone around here had any experience with the Wolf primers and if there is anything I need to be aware of in advance?

At the gettin' place.

So, you've primed with the Wolf's before 72coupe?  Is that "coupe" as in roadster or "coupe" as in ERCO airplane ercoupe model '72?

I've always wondered if people from Iowa Park pull for the Sooners or the Longhorns?  Took a wrong turn off of I-20 out of Dallas one time and instead of ending up in Oklahoma City I ended-up in the Wichita Falls / Iowa Park area ... and everbody there knew the quickest way to get to where I needed to go.  So, do you pull for the Sooners or the Longhorns?

Tell ya what.  You tell me everything you know about Wolf SR Mags - and I'll tell you where I got'em, how's that.

Thank gosh I have my ten year old son trained not to answer a question with a question.  Never could teach my daughters to do it - and now they are all grown-up, out of college, and off being smart a$$e$ to their poor boyfriends and fiances.  But my son - I've been around enough in my old age to overcome the bad influences and the one thing he never does is answer a question with a question - the other thing he always does is say please and thank you, yes maim, no maim, yes sir, no sir, stuff like that.  Gotta love the kid ... any kid for that matter, that was raised with good manners.

Rooster this is the 72 coupe.

I have never used the Wolf primers but I have read good things about them on nationalmatch.us.

I was born in Oklahoma, went to high school and college in Oklahoma. I just live in Texas so I can make a living.

I root for Texas except when OU is playing.

Darn - who would'uv thunk it ... I bought one almost just like that for my Daughter a long long time ago, around '87, baby blue with a white convertable top.  But I knew someone, a girl I dated long ago, who had one just like that, I mean almost identical to yours, brand new off of the showroom floor in '71 - her Dad owned a lumber yard and he wanted her to have a brand new red 'stang.  Yours has the what, 302, 351?  Laquer or enamel?  Are those the original wheels?  I do not remember either of the ones I remember having wheels like those on yours?

I figured you for a Sooner fan living in Tejas.  Looks like Texas is the favorite to win another CWS this year.  My darn Gamecocks were knocked-out late last night in extra innings darn it.  I believe we have lost two national titles to Texas over the years ink baseball.  Arkansas knocked Oklahoma out of the regionals on Sunday if I remember correctly.

From what I have seen so far, these wolf primers seem to be about on par with the 41s.  I worked-up a couple of dozen late yesterday and popped-them-off out-on the back-forty this morning.  Indents about the same as the 41s and loads appear to be about the same with the same results.  It got hot so I did not set the chrony up, but all in all I'd say they are probably a pretty good deal right now.  The right color too, so as not to confuse them with something else down the road.

Got them at http://www.wideners.com/ 72coupe.

Good luck to you friend.  :)  Nice ride.

I bought the car new the day before thanksgiving 1971. It originally had a 124 horsepower 302 in it with terrible gas mileage.

I have just put a fuel injected 331 stroker motor in it with a AOD transmission. Haven't worked out all the bugs yet.

I was hoping for 300 horsepower but it looks like it will make 425.

Yep - I've now had a chance to run about 500 rounds primed with the Wolfs ... they load and shoot exactly as 41s, which in retrospect makes sense since they are the same primers used to load the Wolf 223/5.56 stuff.
