I was in the Army from 1970 to 73. I was a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. I was stationed at Ft Campbell KY, Ft Benning GA, Ft. Bliss TX, McGregor Range NM and then back to Ft Cambell KY for discharge. After discharge i spent a year in the National Guard.

1st Squadron,1st Cavalry Regiment, "BlackHawks"..Division Scouts ,1st Armored Division

Desert Shield/Desert Storm..PCS`D
2nd Squadron/8th Cavalry Regiment, HHC Scout Platoon,1st Cavalry Division 1991-1994
  
This was when I was a young Speckltist in 2/8 Cav...
2006 I enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard as a Cavalry Scout.Reclassed to 11b Infantry rifleman and am currently assigned to A co, 3/144 Infantry Regt deployed to Iraq at the moment..I had it in my blood and couldn`t get it out it seems.
THEN
NOW
Two wars under my belt and looks like I might do another tour after this one.

Detailed to man a temperance booth outside the Friendly Tavern, handing out tracts explaining the evils of intoxicating drink and associating with ladies that,, well , with loose wo,,,,,ah, with , with friendly , agreeable ladies.
Defected after 5 days.

U.S. A rmy form 67 to 70 airborne 82nd with the 1/17th cav. went straight leg in nam as a tanker but the slots were filled and i became a recon specialist and pounded ground for the whole time i was there.

Ft Campbell yet again Corps Arty, but on a 155mm towed piece this time
Presidio of Monterey, Ca the Defense Language Institute for Russian
Wurzburg, Germany 1ID, 101st MI BN with a layover in Kosovo
Goodfellow AFB, Tx 344th MI BN, training recruits (or rotting, depends how you look at it)
Still have one or two stations left in me, next stop, Georgia

| I offered my body in 63, they didn't want me. I spent 10 years at Sandi Labs in NM . If you flew in Vietnam, you used weaponary and missles I helped develope. Then I spent 20 years in undergorund nulcear testing. If you were on a Boomer, you had missiles on board I worked on, same with the Air Force nukes.

I was in the US ARMY during the Viet Nam War from mid 1960's to 1969. I received an honorable discharge for my time served.
Today my heart is heavy and my head bows in prayer, for a man who was indeed an outstanding professional soldier (in spite of the news media lies) during his lifetime of service, as well as a person who gave of himself lecturing and appearing on behalf of Veteran's groups. General Westmoreland, who was commander of all US forces during the Viet Nam War, has passed to the other side and glory at the age of 91. Sir I am proud to salute you once again.....Amen!

Amen..Lil Mag.No matter what the news media says or said and the anti war people said back then..This man was a General and an American Soldier..He deserves respect and I for one will give the man that respect on this day when he went to his final muster..RIP General WestMoreland..With respect and thankfulness of his service.
