Yuppers. Gen. Westmoreland was quite a soldier. He just didn't play politics too well. (Neither did I). I always called 'em like I saw 'em, like it or not. My cover is off to him, and I hope to meet him upstairs in the future. I was just watching him on "Mail Call" with Gunny.

Not me, I was a pogue:wink:.

LRSD was interesting in that we only wore stripped uniforms, and had no grooming requirements.  I carried an M-24 and a 9mm in a Ranger holster with a rather conspicuous suppressor pocket.  Most of the GIs in our AO thought we were CIA or something.

I hope you guys don't mind my peace time service. I hold no special medals and tried to lend a hand in desert storm but was told, been out too long and too old. I didn't mind the out too long but the too old hurt. I told that desk jockey (recruiter) that I could out shoot him, but to no avail.

Big John, man you have my respect. You cared enough to serve. It matters none in my eyes wether you saw combat or not.Don`t ever think you didn`t do enough bud.

The only guys I would ever look down on are those who do what the sniper guy we had here recently did.
Too many men have died doing things for real that him and those like him try to capitalize on I can`t and won`t abide or tolerate it.
If I did,I turned my back on my brothers who didn`t make it home and I will never do that,ever...

Any Veteran of any branch of service is always welcome at this board,at my home or in a deer camp with me.
