I just became aware of this story this morning. I'm not a big letter writer about causes, but the way this agent treated a soldier is a disgrace. My opinion is, as long as United hires and supports peole like this counter agent, I have no use for them, and will never spend money with them. I intend to let them know about it, as well. I might suggest other folks do the same.

Well, I wouldn't expect much of anything less than what happened here. Too many people living in America (I won't even bother calling them Americans) are more concerned about superficial bullshit than anything of substance. Things like, which shoes to buy or what kind of car would they look best in. Matters of principle are lost on way too many folks nowadays.
I suspect the airline attendant was a charter member of the ACLU in her home town.

| Typical. LIEberal doesn't believe in "murder', so she won't support an American soldier. If this was a communist country, she would be arrested, tortured, and "re-educated" for years in a Gulag before she ever slandered the red Army again...*sigh*. The fruits of freedom are many and plentiful, but sometimes we get spoiled rotten apples, as well. Well, we can always disregard them...

| Haven't researched it further, yet. Ken Allard is usually a pretty reliable souce for military info, though.

Fair nuf Charley, I've never read the guy before so I have would have to tread lightly on his stuff. Having worked at a airport for a couple of years I can say for a fact that if she had said that here she would have been in a world of hurt. Most of the supervisors I know would have wrote her up in a heartbeat and made her apologize for what she said.
Take care Be safe, Poacher.

While in airports, my wife and I have a habit of picking up the tab (silently) for soldiers in uniform in restaurants. That's how I roll.
**** that bitch. God willing, I will get to be in line behind one of our finest when they hold their tongue for respect of the uniform and allow me unleash both barrels.

I don't know that I could have held my toungue, I'm having a hard time dealing with a not so supportive employer right now, gave me grief the other day about not working a Saturday even tho I told him 3 weeks in advance of my drill date.
Kind of strange that this sort of thing happens, I've recieved nothing of the likes when I flew, with the exception of an overzealos tsa wanting me to take my bandages off 24 hours after surgery.

i had an incident happen with american airlines coming home from my daughters wedding and was surprised at the rudness of the agent at the atlanta airport. first off i had never used a self check in and when i asked her a question she was rude and off handed. i then completed my ordeal with the self check in and asked her why my wife and i were in seperate seats and she says in a really harsh voice did you not see the change the seating which i saw but didn't understand and then proceded to tell her i have never done this before and get you don't have to be rude and cop an attitude. the retort was mam your the one with attitude. i then asked her about our luggage and what i needed to do with checking it in and she says just wait your turn. okay now i am confused. we check our luggage in with her and i say my son in law gave me a spent 105 howitzer shell is there something we need to do. her response was well if they need anything they will call you. all my meds and stuff are in this luggage. we get home and then have an ordeal where we finally get our luggage over 24 hours later. we finally talk to someone who says the agent in atlanta should of had us fill out some papers about the shell. i reported it to american in an email and got a very quick response with a voucher worth a $100 for our next trip in the next 12 months and a sincere apology. this was the first time in all my travels i have ever had an incident like that. the people at american were very polite beyond this one agent which i hope gets some kind of reprimand for her lack of actions and attitude. i realize 5 a.m. is a hard time to be moving about and dealing with people but that was way beyond what should of been done to a paying customer. as for the lt. i think he was too kind and should of let the agent know that this is not the way to treat anyone. if it had been me and i was an agent i would try to help all service people get home as quick as possible. united won't get my business if this is true. there was an ordeal supposed to of happened with starbucks but my nephew who was in iraq said they had asked starbucks for a lb of their coffee they all liked and received two 5lb bags of the brand and type of coffee they liked with a note that said to please them know when they needed more it would be on the way. if united did that or that agent did i hope they fired her and they make sure that any other military personel going home gets first class. there were several on standby on american and they were given firstclass seats for their ride from dallas to oklahoma city and i was ablw to shake their hands and tell them thanks.. anytime i see a soldier from any service i say thank you and if i can i shake their hand

| That is disgusting, you should NEVER show any disrespect to a soldier. However, the "great american cop-out" is bullshit. I oppose the war, but I love and respect our troops, so that part is crap.
