I had this little rifle built back in 1976 and used a heavy ER Shaw barrel and a LH 581 action. I could fill a couple of tractor trailers with the amount of game animals and birds i have taken over the years with this rifle. It has been my primary squirrel rifle for over 25 years. I have more expensive rifles but none i like better.
It is a smaller version of the 788 . It has the same rear lug lock up as the 788 and the same trigger , which i modified to about 12 oz. I painted the rifle in 1977 and it has started to wear , i have been meaning to touch it up but just never got around to it. It is a shooter.
Nice lookin little rig Bea.I see you like that camo stuff to.I have it on my 7x57 and its growing on me...

Thats a cool looking machine. I installed a heavy Butler Creek bbl on my 10-22, bought a Ruger sporter stock for it. Makes a nice mouse, snake and chicken gun also ferrel cats. Back in my younger days, 50 plus years ago the .22 put a lot of venison in the pot.
