I have developed an interest in coyote hunting since I retired, and here in Michigan, in order to hunt coyotes in the southern zone, you have to use a rimfire. I didn’t like the idea of using a 22lr, especially with its rainbow trajectory, so I ordered a Savage 93FV for the forthcoming chore.
On the first trip to the range I was having trouble even getting a shot on the paper when another shooter pointed out the synthetic stock had crack that went from the cutout for the ejected case down to the magazine well.
I sent the stock back to Savage and a week later, I had a new one. Put it all back together and went back to the range, and while I only have this one session at the range to go on, I can tell you I am happy with accuracy, accue-trigger, and the extremely smooth operation of the action. Even with a heavy barrel, it still weighs only 6 pounds, so it can also be used for a walk-around rifle.
I can’t wait until coyote season opens!

Howdy, all
I've got a Marlin 882SS. It's alittle tack-driving firecracker! (damn, I love that micro-groove marlin uses... I've also got a 25N a 60N and a 25YN) it's done one hell of a job on the rat-coons and possums that try to get into the chicken pen.
I really like the fibre-optic sights... they're really clear *EXCEPT* when you're wearing a baseball-type hat. It doesn't pick up enough light to make em glow when your hat's blocking the sun.
When I've been out plinking, I've taken out that lil mag and shot the flowers off of dandelion stalks at 75-80 yards using the 2.5x el-cheapo tasco I have mounted on it. Fantastic gun, just like all the other marlins I own.
My 2¢ worth
