How do you like that 22/45. I've had one for years. Mod 512. I love that little girl. Just be careful not to stuff it under your seat when hunting, letting it bounce around and the rear sight re-adjusting itself. I emptied a magazine at a blue grouse in camp-with all my hunting partners laughing their asses off- because it'd readjusted just slightly high. Usually I can hit the cap on a 2L bottle 10/10 @15yds. I was embarrased to no end.
I've also got a S&W422 but it hasn't seen the light of day since S&W capitulated to the Clinton administration all those years ago. It was a sweet little shooter, though... maybe I shouldn't punish the gun... lol

Have to go with the popular 22/45 5.25" bull-barreled Ruger.

I just picked up a Sig Mosquito and its now my favorite 22 handgun. It's crazy accurate, well balanced and very reliable.

Have a S&W M-41 Long Slide outfitted with a now ancient Aimpoint 2000. Both are still performing flawessly.
The Smith is well over 25-30 years old and the Aimpoint model (since discontinued) is doing great.
Bought the setup from a close friend many moons ago when he felt he needed to move on. Saw (with my own eyes) him shoot a 299 with this piece in an indoor, winter-league match. I could never come close to matching his skill and ability, but this particular piece has stood me well in matches at 50 feet, 25 yards and 50 yards....and have the trophys to prove it.
At this point, getting "long in the tooth" and the eyes do play tricks. But, this particular piece and setup will NEVER be sold for any reason.
Grin, having as much fun with the S&W XVR 460. It really is a pleasure to shoot using the Hornady 200 grain SST. Friends are amazed at the concussion and its a riot to see the leaves falling off the trees....not from a hit....just concussion.
Between the old 41, the new 460, and an accurized 1911, this guy is literally happier than a pig in shixx. Life is good! Love marksmanship!!

Just recently sold a Supermatic Citation, Military Model 107...but kept the bull-bbl. Sportsman. Its a fun piece to use, easy to clean, and out to 50 yds. can keep them inside of 3 inches. Grin, its not a competition "target" piece, but more than holds its own. Will probably never sell it. Info: Item will not function with standard "target" 22....does require hi-speed ammo.
Standard "target 22 does not eject...at all. With hi-speed, never a glitch, and accuracy is just fine.

I have a Blued Mk II with a 5 1/2 Bull Barrel and a Stainless 6 1/2 Single Six. The Mk II was a shooter from day one. I've still got some work to do on the Single Six (trigger and sights), but it is a lot of fun.
I have spent a good chunk of time at the range with a Sig Mosquito it is a fantastic gun for a short barreled 22. I'm not a great shot with open sights and I have to say the Sigs always seem to hit where I aim.

Guess the dittos have to go to the Ruger Mark II Target Model. Ours is pushing 25 years old. The only hiccups it's had came early this year, and Ruger fixed them for free. It's accurate, dependable, digests just about any .22LR ammo, and is maximum fun to shoot.
Honored mention has to go to Dad's old H&R 922 (pictured). He bought it by mail order several years before I was born, and used it to shoot moray eels in the lagoon at low tide back on Canton Island, which is where I came into the world. It has a pinned cylinder (rather than a swing-out) and oversized checkered plastic grips. The cylinder pin is used to push the ejector star out of the cylinder, removing spent cases after firing. Not a high-tech wheel gun to be certain, but it has a comfortable, nostalgic feel in my hand.

My favorites are a S&W Model 17 revolver, which is my best .22LR shooter by far, and an old Whitney Wolverine semiauto, which I actually shoot more than any other .22 pistol I have (five in all).
The Wolverine is an oldie from the fifties, very funky action, funky rear sight, but has the best 'feel' of any .22 pistol I've ever handled. A near match trigger too. It seems to really like the Aguila SSS heavy rounds. It might have made a bigger impact on the history of .22 handguns, except a rash young upstart named Bill Ruger came out with this odd little pistol that shot better for half the price. Dang him......

Yup. And may God rest his soul. Old Bill and his company contributed greatly to the shooting sports. The company he led continues to stand behind their products, even those that some might assess as having theoretically exceeded their useful life.
Many among my generation and certainly my kids' generation learned to shoot handguns with Mark I's and II's, and with 10/22's. The M77 and No. 1 are good-looking, good-shooting rifles, as well.
We have a Mark II Target Model that is probably the favorite shooter among all our .22s. It's an honest, good-shooting pistol that has given us a couple of decades of enjoyment - and continues to do so!

While I would never give my super single six, my favorite rimfire is a 1960's era Browning Challenger. Much like the Colt Woodsman, it is a highly accurate piece that virtually anyone can pick up and shoot well the first time out.
