I've been looking at the Savage in 17hmr, pricing and availability. went into dick's sporting goods, noted a Savage on the shelf, asked the sales guy if I could look at it. I was giving it the once over and noted that the crown was screwed up, it looked like a rod had been stuck in the end and the crown torqued off center! it dimpled in on one side and bulged on the other, I showed my son the defect to make sure I wasn't seeing things, he agreed it was screwed up! so I point this out to sales person who could absolutely careless! it'll be sold to some unsuspecting person and they won't be able to hit a thing with it! I know it was a manufacturing defect and will in no way prevent me from buying savages rifles, but thought it was odd thing to see in a modern firearm!
