I like hunting with my Colt Woodsman and my S&W Model 41. The little Beretta Model 87 will suprize you how well it shoots and the accuracy it is cable of . I have killed a number of Coons and Possums the dogs have treeed with the little Beretta. My Model 41 is the pistol of choice when i squirrel hunt with my dogs. The Colt Woodsman is one of my carry pistols i carry when just walking in the woods or fields. I had the NP-3 Roguard finsh put on this pistol and gold bead front sight. I couldn't imagine not having a good 22 pistol around. I do love shooting them .

Those are some nice pistols you have there Bea, and I'm glad to hear that the Beretta is a good shooter. I've never owned one in 22lr, but I like Berettas.
My two most used 22 pistols for hunting have been a Colt Diamondback and a Ruger MkII Target. They've taken a lot of ground squirrels and rabbits. I've also used a S&W M63 but gave it to my stepdad long ago.
These days I also have a Ruger Single Six and a High Standard HD Military. Both were bought used almost 2 years ago. The High Standard is probably the most accurate 22 pistol I've ever had. But it's not as reliable function wise compared to the Ruger MkII.

I like the HD and have owned a number of HS pistols. The last one i own was the Victor and i sold my Diamondback to my buddy last year. I got tired of the revolvers in the 22 lr because they got dirty really quick and reguired cleaning after a couple hundred rounds. Just love the semi-auto.

| Like to shoot at, or in the general vicinity of bunnies and grouse. Only rimfire .22 handgun I have is a Ruger SP-101. Nice revolver, but a bit on the heavy side. Used to have a MK-II. I liked it better. Will probably sell the 101 or trade it. Want to get another Ruger auto.

Haven't killed anything with it other than paper. This was an ammo test I did with Rem. "gold" bullets vs. CCI mini-mags. Colums 1 & 3 were the CCI mini mags and proved much more accurate.
The pistol is a Colt Trooper Marksman with a Weaver 1-4X scope. Hope to get after small game with it sometime. Maybe even turkeys - dunno. In my state rifles and pistols are legal for turkeys and a well placed headshot would do the trick.

If you can make a head shot with your pistol on the Wild Turkey you will have something to bragg about, because it never stops moving.

I also have the Woodsman and the S&W Model 41. Both are very accurate. But I would have to say the 2 most accurate rimfire pistols that I own are my Browning Medalist, and my Ruger Competition Target Model. The Ruger is as, or more accurate than most of my rimfire rifles. The S&W Model 63 is my wifes. It's also an accurate gun, but it's a little small for my hands. billt

This is my Ruger Stainless Single Six with the .22 Magnum cylinder installed. It does best with CCI Green Tag .22 L.R. Ammo, and Federal Premium .22 Mag. billt

| My brother bought a Charter Arms Explorer pistol and used a Dremel Moto Tool to turn the raised ridge on the reciever into a scope mount. I saw it, bought an Explorer and did the same. Mine would hold 1/2-3/4 inch groups @ 50 yards. They carry great in an Uncle Mike's shoulder holster.

| I carry a Ruger Single-Six when I'm deer hunting and have killed my share of cottontails,as well as ratttlesnakes.I use the magnum cylinder.Unfortunately I will have to find some unleaded loads for it this year.CCI's Green Load sounds like its more of a varmint load to me and still is not available. But if it's accurate enough for head shots it should be ok.

Here is my Single Six.
I have an unscoped Mark II Target that I use as well.
The scoped single Six is a great way to practice a steady pistol hold since even slight arm/hand movement results in obvious reticle movement.
I keep telling myself I'm going to get rid of anything I can't reload, but the Rimfires keep multiplying. I've got my eyes on a Blued Bearcat and a CZ 453 in 17 HM2 so I don't see an end in sight anytime soon.

BEA,
I used a 10 inch TC until I got my Merrill, which is fun to shoot. I carreied a single six while deer hunting for many years. As of late, I like to take my Browning Buckmark target gun out with me. The Buckmark is a real pleasure to shoot and is very deadly of thumper and Mr, Bushytail.
