I love my Savage MKII with a 3-9x40 simmons scope. I have only added a bi-pod and it is sweet!

hit dead center on a 9mm case from about 50ft off hand (not a lucky shot i did it twice that day)

Hey Triggerman, I can't tell from the picture if that has the accu-trigger or not. If not, any idea what the trigger pull is?
I have one that appears to be a bit different than yours. It is plain trigger and has open sights. The trigger pulls a bit gritty and breaks at 6 lbs.

What was you using for ammo? I have tried several in mine and have not found what it likes yet.

Have a good one, Guy

i just plink so i buy whatever i can find for the money. i think for that shot into the 9mm was Rem. shooting Fed. right now pretty good. no it is not the accu-trigger. 6lbs sounds a little heavy but it breaks smooth and consistent so it works for me. can you get the accu for this gun and put it in yourself???

There is a trigger kit for $84 plus shipping... Rifle basix. I am not sure about an actual accu-trigger.

I am working on polishing the trigger and sear in hopes to lessen the pull a bit.

I only have two, a Marlin 22 mag and a Win mod 62 pump. Seldom use them. The mag dispatches feral cats that run around here and the mod 62 works on unwanted roosters and other vermin shooting 22 short's. Love that mod 62 but have trouble with open sights at this age. Smoothest action on a 22 I ever felt.

Ah! I brought back an Anshutz 54 sporter in 22 mag from Germany in 1970. That was some rifle. Wouldn't mind having a Rem mod 541S either!

EDIT: Anyone else spell this bad???

I'd have to say my Remington 541S, but the CZ452FS is gaining fast.

Picking one's favorite Rimfire rifle is like trying to pick a favorite wine from the cellar where there are so many favorites to choose from.  For happy memories however the old Swiss made Hammerili rifle I fired  on my university rifle team is a favorite because we had fun road trips to tournaments and won our share of them.  I still have contact with a few of the team members and it's a joy talking about the old days when we burned up thousands of rounds of university supplied ammo, and they sometimes ask if I still have the rifle.  Which I do, but almost never shoot it these days but still looking at it and admiring the beautiful Swiss worksmanship.I'll try to attach a picture (excuse my unfailingly poor photography) full length and also a closeup of the massive action area.  Note the size of the bolt.

I still like my Mossberg M46 bolt gun and my Ruger 10/22T both serve me well.

Remington Nylon 11 bolt action can shoot cb caps, shorts, longs & long rifle.CB caps are great for varmints very quiet, Ruger 10-22 SS Jeff Cooper Special conversion from Midwayusa, fajen stock,ss barrel & red dot scout scope on barrel very accurate;browning semiauto. My GS preferred Winchester Model 52's and 75 but they were a bit too expensive when I was checking out 22 rifles.

I have numerous 22's, but i guess my fav one is my left hand Remington 541-S... Dang that gun is accurate!

I'd say my most used 22 for pest control is my Rem. 597M. (22 Win. magnum) It's been totally reliable, and is quite accurate.

Midway sent me a notice on CCI 22 mag TNT Green box of 500 for $51.99 but I was preoccupied cleaning the leaves out of our pool and didn't check my email until evening TOO late. Next shipment June 2010. I tried the ammo out in my Ruger SS Single Six 4 5/8" barrel, I was hitting targets at 100 yards I wanted a box to use in my new Remington 597 22mag.

These days, you have to be "johnny on the spot" and with cash or plastic.

I check online with one of the box stores a couple days ago on some items and now one isn't listed any more and the others are out of stock.

When will this madness end?

Jerry
