I used to have 2: a 39M Golden Mountie (short barrel) and a regular 39A.
My son "pre-inherited" it. He has a nice Browning Lever Action 22, but he alwas wanted mine.
I had one of the Henry 22's. It was a nice gun, too.

All my life I wanted one. After hitting 40 I picked up one used from the gun shop. It had a 4x scope on it, but no hammer extention. The first time I shot it I left it on the hood while checking the target. It jumped off (really!) and the pistol grip split in two. I glued it with Gorilla glue, scraped off the excess, but when I went to put the stock back on, the tang screw wouldn't go in more than 1/4". I'm bummed.......

Ditto to what bea said!
It is my only 22 rimfire rifle now. Accurate little bugger has been used on targets, varmints and small game with great success.
Whoever came up with the notion that lever actions aren't accurate simply didn't have a Marlin 39.

This one is mine. I bought it new about 4 years ago. The action is butter smooth, and it's far more accurate than I am. It feeds and ejects flawlessly. I'll own this one until I die. billt
