Local dealer has this for $160.00.  Thinking about one as a carry around "beater."  What do y'all think??

Bought one for my son so that he'd have a little bolt action "sniper rifle" like Daddy's.  He's nine years old, loves the thing and shoots lights-out with it.  Put a sling and bipod on it and we go to the rifle club, him with his 817, me with my 10FP LE ... both have bull barrels - his looks like a minature version of mine.

I've been really happy with that little rifle - it was a solid investment.

Squirrels are not too fond of it though ... he head shots them, all camo'd-up, like they are going out of style.

I have savage 93r17, 17hmr, absolutely love the cartridge it is a ball to shoot! very very accurate, Me and my boy will sit on the pond at our dove lease and plink the turtles in the pond with it! I have easily made 100yd head shots on them! so much more fun than a .22

The very, very, very, accurate part is very, very, very, true.
