I own may 22 rimfires, but do not own the one you mention. Mostly shoot the CCI stuff for hunting, and then each rifle has its favorite as far as target goes.
My trapping 22 rimfire(H&R Rough Rider) is loaded with CCI shorts to keep pelt damage to an absolute minimum, but the convertible cylinder is stuffed full of CCI Maxi-Mag if I happen upon a hungry coyote eating on a trapped animal!

| Thats very interesting, because hardly anybody uses shorts or magnum over here. To be able to use any firearm over here you have to have written permission from the land owner and the land has to be police approved, in that they deem it a safe area to shoot considering backstops and the general lie of the land!

| Went out last night and got sub 1" groups at 50 yards with Remington subsonics and Winchester subsonics. Tried Lapua subs, rifle would not cycle them and groups were all over! I might change the standard trigger for a volquartsen hammer which cost about £30 over here, have any of you lads improved your 597 triggers?
