This is one of my Squirrel rifles the  Anschutz 64 in LH when i purchased the rifle it had the 26 inch barrel . I had it shorten to 21 inch to make it easier to pack in the woods. I have the Burris 6 power Compact Target  scope mounted on it. I adjusted the two stage trigger down to a single stage and it breaks around 24 oz. The rifle shoots ragged holes at fifty yards with the CCI Mini-Mag HP. The Anschutz target rifles are very hard to beat on the range and in the woods.

Does anyone on the forum know a Gunsmith who could rebarrel the Model 64 to the 17 Mach 2?

That's a good looking rifle/scope combo Bea.  I like the looks of the 21" barrel.  Trying to picture the barrel being 26" just doesn't seem right.  To much tube stickin' out.

Was it hard to get the trigger adjusted to where you have it?   (I'm not much of a fan of two stage triggers myself.  Least not on a bolt gun.)

It was easy to adjust . You just adjust the first stage out and it leaves you with the 8 to 10 oz second stage. I hate two stage trigger for hunting and replaced the Bushmaster two stage on my AR with the single stage McCormick.

bea175: NICE LOOKING RIFLE, BUT THE BOLT IS ON THE WRONG SIDE !!!! have you ever seen a anschutz woodchucker??? i have 1. it is what the kids started out with when they were young. it has a 15 in. bdl.and 31.5 o.a.l. makes for a nice truck gun. this little thing weighs almost nothing. it is the same action as yours , but on the other side... i have a pic of it , but ill have to have the kids post a pic when i get a chance.

you should have seen the look on the peoples faces when i took the kids to the first sil. shoot with it... they thought it was a cricket. then they all starting to look and seen what it was.

They are still available. I purchased mine from Jerry's Sports but i believe Jerry's dropped Anschutz. You can call Crowders in Johnson City , TN and they can get you one.
