Whats your latest buy?  What did you get?  Are you happy with what you received?

Tell everyone where the good deals are right now.:sofa:

I'll start it off, i got a swiss k31 from AMI Surplus a few days ago and it didn't look too purdy but after cleaning her up and refinishing it she is a looker and heart breaker now.

My last was the Mosin Nagant M91/30 I last posted about. Still haven't cleaned it up, but doesn't look bad. Bore is excellent, which is always my major concern. I shoot all my milsurps.

If you haven't looked seriously at a K-31, now is the time to do so.  For all you boys out there that orgasm over SIG handguns, here is a carbine bult to the same standard or better!

My last purchase was an M1 Garand, it was a blue sky I was happy with it but, I had a shell come apart an spray smoke an powder in my face so I got rid of the gun. I know it was not the guns fault but every time I shot it after that I would squint my eyes and start shooting like crap so I figured if I was going to be worried about getting stuff in my eyes all the time I would just get rid of it.

1920 Izzy 91/30, dark bore with strong rifling, gave me a cold bore 2.9inch group at 100 yards with Czech Silvertip surplus ammo....can't wait to see what reloads will do, as the surplus usually shoots like garbage. Have a feeling this one will be a tackdriver - I hope.

   Cost $80.

My 2 Yugo M48's that I got from Mitchell's last year. Both have turned out to be real good shooters.  Bill T.

Just picked up two Yugo M24/47 from Century's U-fix-ums. Cost $80 each includingh transfer, shipping and tax.

First has a excellent bore, about 50% finsh outside, and the front sight screw and solder is broken. Easy fix, might leave that one as a shooter. There was an unknown bayonet in the box, too, guess it was a bonus!

Second one is about 99% finish, excellent bore, and no bolt or follower. Crap! That one I'll break down, or even swap bolts if the second bolt will headpsace properly.

At least bolts are available when I do build on it.

My last surplus rifle purchase was an M1D Sniper Rifle from the CMP. It came by FedEX in a cardboard box with all the accories, leather cheek piece, flash suppressor, telescopic sight with carry case, sling & complete cleaning kit.

The thing has a new stock and the metal pieces are in good shape. It shoots great even with old surplus ball.

Bought a Yugo M-48 Mauser from Mitchell's about a year ago. I really enjoy shooting it. It's very accurate with the original sights.

Just bought 900 rounds of 1950's Romanian surplus ammo from Wideners's. It's all on stripper clips and came in a very heavy tin. Total cost (incl delivery) was $96.

Great looking new toys guys I been on the sidelines for a while, i been busy with the new house.  I have to get back at it really soon before you guys get all the great deals.  The russian mosins look to be the best deals again with some M38's hitting the shelves and i seen a few M91/59's too.  I may go around for a second time on the mosins again one of each just to sock them away while there in unissued condition before there all gone.

BTW;  I heard this is the last batch of Yugo sks's we will be seeing once these are gone thats it.  I'm sure then we will see the other sks prices soaring up too.

I'll be sunk if it gets much worse. The topic is "latest". Ask my wife, she remembers all the Garand, Enfield, M-1 Carbine, SKS excuses like they were yesterday.

I jumped off the C&R rifle bus for a while to collect handguns.  I got into the CZ pistols and now with the cz82 in 9mm mak being a C&R(military version) its time to grab a few of those before they dryup too.:shameon:

My misses knows I'm gonna do it anyway so why say anything,  so its very quiet here sometimes and she'll get over it.  I have slowed up a lot lately too with the new house.  I been buying landscaping stuff like fruit trees to bring the deer closer......We only pass this way once so do it right......

Big Bill, my lastest or last military rifle, was a .303 Jungle Carbine! I purchased it up in Iowa at a gun store and brought for a younger nephew of mine. I told the mgr. to put in 3 boxes of military ammo as well and we had a deal. Much to my dismay, it turned out to be a .303 carbine alright but with a new installed barrel in the .308 caliber. I used to dream of owning one of those rifles when I was a kid!

I wish I would have taken the time to buy up many of those military rifles I saw back in the 1960's. Man they were so cheap, many under $30 dollars. I really didn't know what I was looking at in most cases and now they are really hard to come by.
