MN 91/30 and an M44 at a gunshow about 6 weeks ago. Both shot fine during the test run, but I need some real time out to set up the sights on them, they are not to my liking yet. That said, maybe with some milsurp ammo, they may be fine; neither of them particularly care for the Wolf 150 grain stuff I was feeding them.
Both are the 44/45 vintage, rearsenaled and imported by Oly. Not bragging on them, I just have a craving for old military stuff that is a long way from satisfied. Let's see, I need an 03-A3, a Garand, need a Lebel (have a Krag) SKS would be nice sometime --
Hang loose, gotta go check my wallet for loose green things ---

My latest is a CZ52, stamped "53", with extra mag, tool. and holster, all in great shape. I installed an after-market firing pin and a mag release. The Makarov.com web site also recommended a 16.5lb main spring if you are going to shoot the loads that this pistol is capable of. My favorite is the Hornady 90gr hp w/AA#9 powder, Starline brass, and win sp primers. Accurate Arms has some loads for the 7.62x25 that really work well. Also ran across some Portugese 85gr hp, brass case, boxer primed that are excellent. Good shooting .

| Yugo 59/66, almost too much fun. Anyone who doesn't have an SKS needs to get one. A little before that, an EG Makarov. So far, I haven't had a single person that didn't fall in love with it after a couple of magazines. Just one of those guns that anyone can shoot. Before that a CZ Brno 98/22. A great shooter that will kick the snot out of you when loaded with some of those insane Turk rounds.

I want one. I really need to pick one up before they're all gone. Is the muzzle flash/blast really as impressive as I've heard?

I had a CZ 52 pistol and liked it. I was on line (some time ago) and Old Western Scrounger had Tokerov ammo on sale for 35.00/case of 2288 rounds. I looked at the balistics and decided that the CZ would make a great steel plate gun and the ammo was exactly the same energy level as 9 mm, and I would have all the ammo for practice I would ever need. I lost my mind and ordered 7 cases (17,000 rounds) plus one case of Canadian 9mm. The 9 mm was a bust, about 1/2 fires, but the Tokrov ammo is great. It costs just a shade more than 22 LR, what a deal!
I decided that with that much ammo, I'd better get me another gun (do you follow my logic) in case I broke or wore out my exsisting gun, so I ordered 2 more. I thought I would maybe share my bonanza with my son or use the extra gun for trade.
In October, I saw 9 mm barrels advertised i the Sportsman's Guide for about 55.00 each, so I bought 2. Now I had 2 identical guns in 2 different calibers and I could burn up the 9 mm Canadian. After a bit of thought, I ended up just putting th 9 mm barrel assembly (with rollers) in with my original gun and saved the bulk. The only downside is to not accidentally fire Tokorav ammo in a 9 mm barrel. It wouldn't be destructive, but it would be surprising..

Talk about kicking the snot out of you- I shot my Mitchell's mauser with the steel butt cap with their brand of 7.92x57mm. The 175gr were not fun, but the 196gr was really grim. They smacked me worse than my old Mauser action .375 Weatherby. Now, when I shoot my Mitchell, I use a sissy pad, and don't care how many smirks I get. Mickey, is that Tokarev ammo corrosive?? Ghugly, yes, the muzzle blast is impressive. Good shooting!

| THe Makarov ammo is ABSOLUTELY corrosive. Yes, I forgot to clean it immediately and it rusted over. It cleaned up, but it was a good lesson not to forget.

| Picked up a VZ24 8x57 that passed the headspace check - must have been hardly fired. I reload only 200grn Partitions for hunting in it, did shoot some of the corrosive loads thru it and gave that up-just to see. A favorite rifle it has become. Figuring on putting a good scope on it and just seeing how accurate I can load this for. 8x perhaps-sniper similarity.

The Czechs are nice. I rebarreled one with a bad bore to .338/06. Would like a No5 LE like yours, but they are getting scarcer and more expensive down this way.

| I just picked up a Model 38 Swedish Mauser made by Husqvarna. Its in fantastic condition.I have not shot it off a bench yet, but shooting offhand in winds gusting up to 60 mph,I was able to hit a 5 gallon bucket at about 175 yards consistantly.I am very pleased with it.

Ghugly, yes, the muzzle blast is impressive. Good shooting! The german manufactured 8mm ammo had more power than the 30-06 ammo. The gun powder they used isn't manufactured anymore. The 8mm round is a good round and too bad its overlooked by many shooters. BB

Nice purchase. The prices on these are going higher all the time too. They have become an investment too. The 6,5mm swede round is a good round for up to moose/elk/reindeer sized animals too.(europe) While the accuracy is great the recoil is very light you can shoot it all day. I have found the Sellier & Bellot ammo to be very accurate in my swede mausers.

If you don't have an sks get one now!!!!! First while there still affordable and Second before there banned!!!!!!! I heard the Saiga's, the sks's and the semi auto shotguns are on the ban list by the NRA when they called.
Everytime the anti's mention a gun bill they promote gun sales to the max!!! From now till november the gun sales will surpass anything else being sold. People who had no plans about buy more guns or who never purchased a gun yet will be buying for sure. I like it when the gun shop is crowded this means the anti's are getting the word out there to "BUY GUNS" I love it!!!!
Buy; Saiga's, SKS's, semi auto shotguns too...i'd get anything semi auto that you want before its too late.
Remember to vote for the pro gun politicians too let our word be heard in washington and let the anti politicians feel our wrath too. We need to put in office people who represent "US gun owners" not the ones who want to take them away.
Don't vote for Hillary!!!!! Don't be misslead a third time!!! Don't put slick willy in the whitehouse again he made a mockery of our goverment the last time. He was dipping cigars while the rest of the world was in trouble and thats why were in the sh!t were in today, it started with him when he was in office. Rome burned while he dipped cigars.....

| mine is a 1891 argentine mauser in 7.65x53, just happens to be the calvary carbine version and the forearm goes to the end of the barell. the gun is no longer than a 30-30.(i traded for it to use as a rainy day gun) after shooting it and finding it VERY accurate i used it to take a doe last season. that big bullet packs some thump, from what ive read it compares to a .308 winchester.....kinda funny...$800.00 remington with a $350.00 scope at home and me hunting with a open sighted 100 yr. old mauser....love the challenge!

BB-
Doubles? Dunno about that, but to have, to hold, you can't beat an MN rifle and carbine to go with it. (And surp ammo is still cheap, even if you can't reload it.) An M1 is next on my list.

| CZ52 is accurate. A friend who is pretty good with a handgun hit a plate (12x15) 7 times in a row at 100 yds. He did NOT use a rest. It was his first time with that particular gun.
