Congrads on a great rifle, we need pictures and I hope the skeeters are mild so you can get out and try it.

The garand is one of the most fun rifles i have ever had the pleasure of firing. With the weight of the rifle and the gas system it is a pussycat to shoot. Great rifle and great piece of our Military History.

Jimatcat
Numbers don't mean a damn thing if you bought it for a shooter and you are having fun. I honestly don't think I have a Garand that is number matching but they all shoot good and I have a absolute blast with them.
Take care Be safe Poacher.

You must be a really good shot. That is a great group with ball ammo.
You should take that thing to a High Power Match or a John C Garand Match. If you can shoot that Garand from position like that, you should do well.

Chris, I shoot 49 grains of 2230C with a 125 grain Speer TNT bulk bullet in Lake City 69 cases with a Remington 9 1/2 primer.
I haven't chronographed this load but it is quite accurate out of my 2 Garands. Recoil is light, function is 100%.

| I kept that issue of the Am Rifleman (the article title is Reloading For The M1 Rifle) as did all of the other shooters we qualified since it starts with 150gr & goes up to 200gr bullets,it lists the bullet types, primers Federal 210M,brass & powder types:IMR :3031,4895,4064,4320;Hodgdon H-4895 & Winchester 748 ball there are other powders which will give the performance about like Win 748 ball Hodgdon's BL -C(2) & H 335 .I sent copies of this article across the USA & to a shooter in Hawaii. The author of the article John R Clarke stated he could get 1,2 or 3 minutes of angle accuracy from a garand using the data .I did and so did another member of our gun club who used his garand to take a mule deer in Colorado so I did the same thing and shot a mule deer buck . Sako 06.
Just got a M1 Garand yesterday. I am looking for loads that will function properly in the M1. Would you be willing to send me the article? I would be happy to pay any cost you would incur! Thanks. I will PM you with my address if you are able.
