They never saw it coming.
Canadian Sniper wiping out Talaban Snipers. In Afghanistan .. These
video  shots are not made through the shooter's telescopic sight... they are
made  looking through the spotter's scope.  The spotter lies right next to
the  sniper and helps the sniper to find and home in on the target.

The sniper is using a 50 calibre rifle. A 50 cal. round is about 7-8
inches long and the casing is about an inch in diameter. The bullet
itself is one-half inch in diameter and roughly one and one-half inches
long.

Pay close attention to the beginning of the video. A Taliban is
laying on top of the peak in front of you... when you hear the shot
fired.... watch what happens. The sniper is also about a half mile away...
or more. A Canadian sniper in Afghanistan has been confirmed as hitting an
enemy soldier at a range of 2,310 meters, the longest recorded and confirmed
sniper shot in history. The previous record of 2,250 meters was set by US
Marine sniper Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam in 1967. The Canadian sniper was at
an altitude of 8,500 feet and the target, across a valley, was at 9,000
feet. Canadian sniper units often operated in support of US infantry units,
which were grateful for their help. The record lasted only one day, until  a
second Canadian sniper hit an enemy soldier at 2,400 meters (8000 feet).
The Canadian snipers fire special ..50-calibre McMillan tactical
rifles,  which are bolt-action weapons with five-round magazines. The
Canadian  snipers were the only Canadian troops operating without
helmets or flak  jackets as they&nbs p;had too much other equipment to
carry. Each  three-man team has one sniper rifle, three standard rifles
(Canadian C7s),  one of them with a 203mm grenade launcher.

TG, this is the video I sent you that you said was b.s. . A .50 cal is not going to blow a body up in the air. Maybe a 20mm Vulcan or Phalanx or a 30mm chain gun.... Who knows.

Wyo..I don`t want to elaborate and get in depth. One of my memories is watching a Apache open up on a bmp with his 30 mm chain gun.It was on fire and guys were coming out of it.Two of em fired at the Apache with ak`s.I watched through the thermals as he engaged those two with that 30mm gun.It did not throw their bodies up in the air.But it did make a horrible mess..
I doubt he will discuss it but my bro sandlfies2 here was a Bradley Gunner and ate the same dirt I did.He engaged more than once with the 25mm Bushmaster and HE rounds on Iraqi infantry and rpg teams..He will tell ya the same thing. It tears off limbs.bowels and such..but it don`t throw em up in the air like a soda can shot with a 357 mag.
The video is fake bro.

I thought it was fake too. That's why I sent it to you to get your opinion. I've been telling friends all along that it was b.s. Looks like a ground squirrel getting hit with a 22-250. What ever it was, they were filled with water.

I got the full version of this video several years ago and it is some guys shooting rock chucks with a 7mm if I remember correctly. Then it started making the circuit as a sniper shooting Taliban.  I can tell you that no sniper crew would ever whistle after making a shot.  If you look close, you can see the animal crawling up the rock before being obliterated.

If that is a 50 cal shot the bullet hit something the guy was carrying like an rpg round or maybe a grenade that detonated. It looks to me like there is a yellow flash on impact.

WyoRum,.......I couldn't get that video up but I doubt the 50 cal at that yardage would in fact toss a human enemy around like a rag doll. However, a 20mm anti-tank gun will at closer range. Now that I have seen actual accounts on black & white film. It blows legs, arms gone etc.

I believe the muzzle energy of that 50cal is somewhere in the 12,000 lb class and if very impressive in the hands of those who are skilled enough to make those long yardage hits downrange on the enemy.

I personally saw the results of a mock V.C. encampment being taken out by gunships with mini-guns on board. Man you take about making the ground move! I don't think a square foot of ground around the camp was left without a round put in it. It was very fast and devastating to say the least. The sight was used for the movie that John Wayne starred in called "The Green Berret"

You are correct. I saw the video in it's entirety and it has been cropped. They are deer the jerk is shooting with a .50

What a waste.

It's a shame that the shooter never so called cowboyed up and joined the military, they would have taught him some common sense.

He doesn't even deserve to own a fifty.

I'm telling you that I saw these videos about two years ago when they first hit the net.

This is a piece of crap wasting deer, They have cropped the video and now said it was a sniper.

If you don't believe me, use some Unknown Distance Range finding skills, compare the surroundings to the target. Large boulders, shrubs, trees. I think you'll find that they aren't Pdogs unless they are the size of a deer.
