Anyone here like the HK line of rifles? I have a model 94 carbine in 9mm. Heck of a lot of fun to shoot, and very good accuracy. In the past I've had the opportunity to fire a real MP-5 and also a model 51. The 51 is in 308, looks like an MP-5 on steroids, and felt easy to control on full-auto.
Those Germans make some real nice weapons.

Gunrunner,
I heard that someone is making H&K copys that are damn near as good, but without the high price tag. The Model 51 knock off runs about $800.00, or about the same as a good AR-15. I can't recall the company. Have you heard of it? billt

I would love to have a MP-5 , because i believe it would make the best home defense weapon you could have beside a short barrel 12 ga.

Billt, the other manufacturers I've seen are Vector Arms, Vulcan Arms, and Bobcat Weapons. I'm not sure who's making a M-51 knockoff, but there seems to be some fairly low prices on the copies I've seen on http://www.GunsAmerica.com of M91's,93's and 94's.
Bea175, the MP-5 I fired had the lower receiver with semi, 3-round burst, full-auto, and the selector on both sides, with red bullets showing which position you're in. I didn't like the 3-round burst for some reason, but the full auto was very easy to control, both in accuracy and rate of fire.

This is my wifes Bushmaster Carbon 15, Model 21S AR-15 Pistol. It's kind of like an MP-5, but with a lot more steam, as it's in .223, (5.56 MM Nato). I mounted an E-O Tech Holographic Sight on it for her, and she just loves the thing. Recoil is very light. This thing is LOUD!, and the muzzle flash with Federal XM-193 Ball ammo is awesome. The flash is about the size of a vollyball. She has no trouble hitting pop cans out beyond 100 yards. It's a real fun gun. billt
