| Boyd's stocks are probably the best. midwayusa.com sells them.

Howdy,
Ok so I decided to strip my M-1 down, remove the furniture pieces and give it a good cleaning. Glad I did, The insides still had cosmoline caked on. Anyhow, I used a stripper to remove the old patchy finish, steamed out the dents, and LIGHTLY sanded (leaving the cartouches alone) the wood on all 3 pieces and wiped it down with mineral spirits to remove any dust and or residue.
Ok, now what kind of finish can I or should I put on it? So you know, its not a collector piece but its in good shape and a good shooter. The wood is all walnut and the wood is pretty light (I think someone tried to refinish it before and did a horrible job of it) FYI I got the rifle via the DCM so It was potluck when I got it.
I have Boiled linseed oil, Tung oil. Any of these work? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Both of those will work. Both are a bit labor intensive, but will give you a good finish suitable for the old war horse. The very minor refinishing I've done (believe me, it is minor) was done with reference to James V. Howe's "The Modern Gunsmith". Not a new book by any means; it was published in the era of the M1, so you can expect some authenticity.
