| I have loaded Nosler 165gr BT's using 47.5gr of IMR 4895 to use for a successful mule deer hunt. This is a powder that has been in use for garands for a very long time. The trouble with off of the shelf ammo is you haven't a clue what powder is in the case since it's not one a reloader can purchase. When I started shooting in CA a group of former WW2 veterans told me what powder to load for my 06 semis been doing it for over 3 decades.I've also loaded Hornaday 150gr FMJ using 48.5gr of IMR 4895 for my garand.I have an article from the March 1986 American Rifleman titled Reloading For The M1 Rifle that has a lot of useful information and load data with powders that are ideal for the garand,if you want a copy send me your home address and I'll mail you a copy.
