I have a chance to pick up a K31 Swiss which shoots 7.5x55, all the info I have found says they are very accurate shooters and the straight pull bolt is like a jewell. I have seen that ammo is gonna be a little expensive. I could reload for it but Id like to hear some opinions on the rifle first. Thanks Jimmy

Buy the rifle, you can get reloadable ammo from Graf and Sons in Missouri. The straight pull bolt feels slick as can be, the triggers are great, and they are accurate and have managable recoil, along the lines of a .308 in a 9lb rifle.

The K 31 is the best buy in milsurps, all I have seen and heard of had very good to excellent bores, all shot at least 2" at 100yds, even better with a scope.
Graf did have new boxer primed brass, I got 200 while they had them. $28 per 100, they are supposed to get new stock shortly.
I would mention, they are heavy, the magazine interfers with carrying at the balance point, the action as slick as a greased gut, BUT, if you do not slam the bolt forward it may stop a few thousands short of closing and , thankfully, will not fire in that position.
It is top load and eject, so the scope must be offset or be a scout scope rig.
I have a 2x scout scope on mine, Darryll's is the best I have heard of, check his web site out.
Some places are advertising them at $90, this is the best buy in a milsup, compared to the over bored Rushins and the clunky colony type Mausers.
Have fun, Don

Jimmy, http://www.grafs.com, currently has 7.5x55 swiss milsurp ammo, and Hornady in stock. The milsurp is $25 for 60 rounds, the reloadable Hornady is $19.99/20. Hope this helps.
