Nice 303's.  She's a purdy one too.

I ended up having actually two collections one of my unissued/excellent military surplus guns and the other collection of my well oiled shootables.  I enjoy them both. Sometimes the uglier ones are the best shooters.

I have 3 britts and a case of fmj and some sp ammo which i haven't shot yet.

Was this one of the RIC rifles imported here about 10 years ago? They looked great, and were still in the original wrap. Just wish I had bought one back then.

Never understood those who don't like Lee Enfields. Adequate power, adequate accuracy, and they work, no matter what.

They also have one of the smoothest bolts too.

The 303 britt has been popular with the older hunters too.  I have a few uncles who also hunted with them too for many years as back up rifles to there modern stuff.

Even in the out of the way, off the beaten path in the general type stores were they sell hardware and guns and ammo i see the 303 britt is still popular there too in the backwoods. I always scan the ammo stock when i'm getting supplies. I see 30-30 and 303 ammo a lot on the shelves.

Even fugly Enfields ("Smellies", as in SMLE) can be great shooters!  I ordered an Indian 'Wire wrapped' No.1 Mk.III (originally BSA-produced) that looked utterly beat.  I was going to use it for a different caliber project, using just the action.

Made the mistake of cleaning it and shooting it - DANG!  Shot so well, I stripped and refinished it.....    I really didn't NEED another BSA-made 1917-dated No.1 Mk.III - now I have two!

Still need a beater for my project.

The Fotos are gone, so I can only guess......  I have a Jungle Carbine I use as a Truck Gun Spare,  although it almost new, it will do the trick if called on.  Handy as hell, wish I had a scope like you seem to have plenty of.  My eyes are getting old, so a little "glass" helps.  That old war horse Enfield has killed several deer anyway.

Did a deer hunt in Louisiana some year back.  We were all standing by our vehicles, enjoying lunch, out ran a herd of deer being driven by a neighbors dogs.  I grabbed my Enfield Carbine out of the truck and shot three.  After the shooting was over one guy said  "Damn that rifle is fast..... and it sure kills hell out of them."  Everyone got a share of the meat and had a story to tell for later.
