Well, guess I missed a lot here in the past week or so!

Welcome aboard Texas Doc.  Like your handle and your profession - I've got to, it's what I do as well!  Looks like I'm not the only other bio guy science geek in here.  Never really posted much on wildlife management though that is what I do, in part for a living.

Looks like you are Texas A&M alumni or faculty from the looks of your avatar.  For those of you who aren't familiar with Texas A&M, it is to Wildlife Mgt what Harvard is for Law School, at least in my opinion  - I've read enough articles out of the Wildlife Society's journal that came from Texas A&M to convince me it has some great wildlife researchers.  I myself don't have a Ph.D., just a lowly bachelors in biology but enjoy the low yet sufficent pay, the nature of the work and the science.  In fact, been considering going after my M.S..  Texas A&M is my top choice for grad school - any comments?  Interests lie in wildlife mgt. techniques, small property game mgt. (such as DMAP) and the like.

Howdy Mountaineer:

Well, A&M is the school to go to if you what a Ph.D. I do wildlife Damage work now. But I have Managed  large ranches in South Texas ranches ,and smallier ones in the Hill Country. If you every make here or I make it up there we need to Have'a Cup of something.

I think its great to have a few of us hanging around, Bio Geeks.
