Charley, excellent answers and resource you are my friend. I was reading through some of these old posts and noticed you are quite handy with "bugs"..
Back to fireants,I bought some stuff at my local feed store called "Extinguish",One can treats 1 1/3acre...it frickin works..Cleaned em out of my yard in about 3 weeks and I didn`t see a mound the rest of the summer. They did come back but I hit em again and same deal, cleaned em out.

| Fire ants are easy to kill. You can kill a mound with boiling water. However getting rid of the permanently is now impossible.

Gene, did you have the forethought to take a starter colony with you when you got sent to the big sand pile?
I think that would be a fine friendship present for Iraq.

I found that they seem to die quite nicely with gasoline(sure that'll make the EPA guys moan), but it's getting expensive to do the pour and burn!
Is there any truth to the Fire Ants only moving north.... meaning, the mound is disturbed and with only move north?
Scott (heard that somewhere) B

Fire ant bombs for the Middle East? I like it.
No fire ants out here, enough other creepy crawlies, like brown recluse spiders, to keep me a favorite customer of my bug guy. Just spent the last 3 months fighting a tick infestation...I think I got all the little buggers, green dog ticks. My poor puppies.

I make my living teaching, training, and doing this sort of thing! I haven't seen it all by a long shot, but i've seen an awful lot.

Don,ahh yes it would my friend.I could think of no better vengance than mud huts and fields full of pissed off fire ants to liven up the Iraqis world a bit..
Right before you go out to plant your nightly ied along the road, stepping in a fireant mound and getting the shit stung out of you would be rather fitting..hahaahahahahah
Gosh almighty I have been in this shithole too long, any way of inflicting pain and misery on these assholes we fight amuses me and tends to get a laugh in these parts.. and I can think of no better way to mess up their world than the imported red fire ant..lol

| Thank god we don't have the little buggers up here! I had enough of them in the service! Mean, nasty little things.
