I have one of these great Romanian .22 trainers and it is in great shape.  My problem arises when it comes time to chamber a round into the chamber.  the round does not freely slide into the chamber and I need to know if I just need to slam the bolt forward and treat it like a military rifle, or take it somewhere for adjustment.  I have read where the clip being loos can cause problems but mine appears to be tight.  Any ideas or suggestions would be great.  Thanks

When you load a fresh clip, pull down on the mag after it locks in place. I have one and if the mag is pushed to high up it will not feed worth a dime. After I started givin' it a little downward tug til it stops, she loads like a dream. Hope it works for yours as well.

So just for clarification here I cleaned the rifle really good and oiled the bolt face. Dropped a loaded clip in and cycled the action. Low and behold the bolt cycled just fine and fed the ammo into the chamber. So I guess when I shoot this gun just need to bring some oil with me and every clip oil up the bolt face. or if someone else has an explanation or trick to try thanks

The M69 has a certain way it feeds the ammo.  On the left side, it has a Mauser-style bolt-stop lever.  This lever puts a bit of pressure on the firing pin, to keep it to the rear of it's travel as the bolt goes forward to strip off the cartridge and push it in the chamber.  This is important, as the firing pin is also the ejector, and if still forward, it can block the rim of the cartridge from sliding properly up the bolt face.  if this happens, the cartridge enters the chamber too 'nose high', and it will hang up.

Mine does this, so I just shoot it as a 'singleshot'.  Since I have several singleshots, I am used to this and have no problem.

Seems like your oiling is slicking the FP enough to make it slide back and work better.

big dog

Well not rally thrilled with the prospect of having a rifel that is a single shot.  I bought this to fulfill my need for a clip fed bolt action.  Do I need to disassemble the bolt and clean.  submerge in cleaner.  Just something I am going to have to live with?  Thanks

I guess I got lucky, my M69 has always fed, fired, and ejected perfectly. I do see a fair number of postings around talking about feed problems, though.

Mine didn't move much either, but just that little downward tug made all the difference in mine.

I have one of the Romanian 22s and had the same problem. What I found searching for info on the rifle reviled the clips were made of light metal and would ware out around the lip. This was what caused my rifle to not feed well. I purchased a new clip and it cured the problem.

The lips were too weak to hold the round in place and let it stick up too far and not hit the chamber. With a little more investigation I found the lips were dragging on the bottom of the bolt.
