I'm having trouble laser sighting in one of my rifles, due to the muzzle break interfering with my abillity to put a laser sight out the end of the barrel Is there a good in chamber laser sighter , that someone might recomend? The folks at one place near here say they won't carry them, cause they say there not accurate...whats the take from any of you guy's? Sure would appreciate any feedback!...High Horse...

I've found that the simplest way to boresight a rifle is to remove the bolt while rifle is on the bench(firmly in place).  Looking down the bore gets me on paper at 100yards or less, and crosshairs can be moved at that time.

Fire one round, move crosshairs from point of aim to point of impact.  Laser bore sighters are usually less reliable then that....I tried one and gave it away!  Used a laser on a AR-15 for installation of a new Nikon Monarch 4-12x40mm, figured it would be good enough to get on paper...wrong.(Had to bring the target back to 25yards to hit paper...could have done that with nothing).

With all that said, Midway has some "cartridge type lasers" that you might want to check out.  Seems like a better idea then an arbor type, as the laser is being emitted down the barrel and onto the target.  Here's the link:

Good luck!

Scott (don't do it) B

I don`t remember who made it but I seen my bud use a cartridge type laser in a Steyr Scout 308.I put it on paper with the first shot and was zeroed within 6 shots with his German post Swarovski.Pretty handy but I always set my rifle in a rest, pull the bolt, look down the barrel and adjust my crosshairs to the target I use to bore sight with.Usually a orange circle target decal on a peice of white paper..

Doesn`t work for a semi or lever gun but great for a bolt action.

Most of the muzzle brakes will screw off and you can bore sight and then screw it back on. The chamber laser bore sighters only comes in certain cal's . What cal are you looking for?
