why don't all scopes with finger adjustable turrets???????? i all have my little screw driver on my keys ring but it would so nice to just turn a knob with my fingers to get my scope on line.........
Target turrets increase the price of most scope and are generally impractical for just about 75% of shooters(JMHO). Think of how many people get their gunsmith to bore sight their rifles, shoot them twice to zero them, and go hunting. After the trip, they will clean their rifle(at least I hope they do) and put it away until next year.
Now they still have 18 rounds in the box, and just load the rifle up to go hunt the next year....
On the other hand, I get the rifle out and fiddle with everything all the time. I clean the ever-living crap out of them(even if they are not dirty)! Shots taken on animals often take a few moments due to changing windage/elevation...and filling out the record book to indicate all that was done.

Basically, I have the same response. For shooting 350 yards and under, one can do this with a flat shooting cartridge and knowing how to sight in and aim. So why would one want target turrets?
For some shooting like benchrest, the reticle must be moved very small but precise amounts. This is accomplished best and therefore worth a little extra cash for target turrets.
For long rang tactical shooting or hunting, the only way to get on target repeatably is a scale type reticle or target turrets. Scale reticles are useful for ranging and for shooting off center. The proper way IMHO, is to have a scale reticle for ranging and to shoot lead, variable windage and use the turret for constant windage and elevation.
