I already own 2 Leupold scopes and I think they're great. I'm looking at buying a new rifle and have heard and read a lot about the new Bushnell scopes and was wondering if anyone here had any of the 4200 or 6500 models and how well they hold up and how clear they are even at high power.

The 6500 series looks quite different, but time testing will tell for me. I don't plan on being the first victim!

The only Bushnells I have are the "Elite" series. One is a rangefinder - works great. The other is the Bushnell Elite 3200 that sits atop my slug gun. After many rounds of 12 ga. slug ammo, it still holds zero just fine. The one thing I do not like about it is its fast focus eyepiece. It simply doesn't lock down to suit me and using Butler Creek Flip-open scope caps becomes difficult. Decent scope for the money.
I can't speak to the 4200 or the new 6500 models though.

Hello everyone! This is a great site, I have talked to a few people now that are pointing me in the direction I want to go. Any how here it is, I just bought a scope at garage sale for two dollars and it works perfect! It is a Bushnell banner 4x12x , It has large inset white lnumbers near eye piece and and smaller white numbers on barrel end, What I am after is what year these were produced and possible what they sold for new or are worth now, thanks for any info!!

I have both, the leupold sets on top of my 30-06 and my Bushnell 4200 elite is on my AR-15. I will be in the market for a new one for my 270 and will get a Bushnell since there HQ is in overland park kansas were they will sell factory repaired scopes at half the price.

Most of my scopes are Bushnells. My oldest sits atop a Winchester 100 and has been there for right at forty years. I have only adjusted it twice and then only one or two clicks. Everyone told me that a tip off scope mount was unstable but I love it. It is a "Command Post" model (switches from cross hairs only to a post and Xhairs). You will not go wrong with the scopes judging from a lifetime of good results. I have never had one go bad on me--unlike some others. Absolutely nothing wrong with Leo. as they are superb scopes like Nikons--but I don't want more in a scope than a rifle costs. Bushnells are a great middle of the road scope. I have used Swift and Tasco and BSAs and they work OK--but my choice is Bushnell. They are on four deer rifles if that gives you a hint that I trust them. wc

I have mostly Leupold scopes with a few Bushnell mixed in. What you want out of a scope is the key which scope to buy.
