Now I know what gun you talking about. it kinda blew by me. Its the same bunch that made a few of the 30-06 side by sides (I think). I was thinking bolt action.

Your probably using the same bore sighter I use , plugs into the bore and you see a grid. Ive had good luck with it. Your going to be close if after you centered up the cross hairs and it looks good in the sighter you should be close enough to click it in.

I've got a Ruger 77 that just gave me a fit for a day or so. I had to use adjustable rings because the slots cut in the receiver are not perfectly aligned with the barrel. Its re-barreled in .220 Rocket so I think there was a little out of square between the barrel and receiver not much maybe .010 but enough.

When you sight it in try to secure the gun somehow and do the crosshair to the bullet hole thing and you'll be dead on the next shot but it has to be real secure so after the shot you can reset the cross hair back on the bulls eye and click it without moving the gun to the bullet hole.

Sound like your good to go.

Woodbury is 50 miles south/south east  of Nashville (20 miles east of Murfreesboro). About 2 hours from the speedway. My wife is a real Nascar fan so I eventually see a week end in Bristol.

Do you ever shoot at Oak Ridge Sportsman Club? NICE. I'm thinking your fairly close.

TnTom,

The rifle is a Remington SP18 in 7.62X39.  They're made in Russia and they're very inexpensive but pretty well made.

I've never shot Oak Ridge. I belong Kettlefoot Rod & Gun Club in Bristol and have been a member since I relocated here in 1995. It's a private club and there's no fishing/water there at all.  :>)

The place is kinda nice but not "country clubby" if you know what I mean. It's "folksey" though.

If you've never seen a race at Bristol, trust me, it's worth the price of admission. They have a very fan friendly facility that seats 160,000 around the high banked half mile track.  They also do a fantastic light display this time of year-over 2,000,000 lights on static and moving displays all around the track and the drag strip. You can see the promo on their website-BMS.com.

Shoot me an e-mail if you make it up this way.

Harry

I think my wife is already looking at the website. I enjoy Nascar. Oak Ridge is right on the edge of too far to drive for a day and Bristol would be a great weekend.

If I head over in that direction I give you holler. Let me know how you make out with the scope.

These guns get a little on the edge sometime but its fun.
