I just bought a KonusPro 3x10x44 w/ Illuminated Reticle for $106, for my Ruger Hawkeye. Has anyone had any experience with Konus optics? I'm wondering if these are good scopes or should I start saving for a better scope such as a Leupold?

Just inquired about Konus on the AR15.com forum for an AR.
Got mostly favorable comments with a few negative.
Go to AR15.com in the Optics forum.
Decided to buy a Nikon Monarch 1-4X 20mm for my next AR. I wanted a true 1X for CQB (Close Quarters Battle)along with some magnification for medium range. This scope looks great, but not yet field tested. It was designed for African Dangerous Game.

I have a 1-4x Redfield on my 30-06. At 1x I can see the barrel about half way up. I like low power scopes for most hunting.

I have 4 Redfields a fixed 4x, 3.5x-7x, a fixed 10x, and a fixed 12x target scope (all older maybe 20 years or so) and love them. I have a 2.5XLeupold EER for my .44 mag. I've have it 10 years and an old Kollmorgen Optical 2.75X-5X.( they also make the periscopes for our nukes sub. Interesting History). I really would like to try a new Redfield but are they made overseas now? I know the old Redfields are great.
Take your time and research whats been around for a while. There are some used top of the line scopes that can be a great investment.
Your Konus should do you fine until your sure what you need.
