Gents,

I am looking for loads using the 110 gr Second for my 25-284 Winchester. This is a new rifle caliber combo for me and my rifle is built on an Argentine 1909 action with a 24" barrel.

I use the following powders; H4831SC, H1000, RL 25, RL22, RL19 and H414.

Can someone run Quickload on this cartridge and bullet combo?

Thank you!

Cheers,

35

Hey Classic..Let me try.I`ll get back to ya shortly..

The only data I have off hand is for a 117 grain bullet and 51.5 gr of 4350.I`ll hit ammoguide tomorrow. They have a lot more info  than what I`ve got my hands on..

FiftyDriver or some of these other fellas might be able to get  ya some help tonight on it..Sorry about the lack of info at the moment. The 25-284 is about as hard as the 25-06AI to get numbers on..

Jack pot!!!Hodgdons manual shows 25-284 data but in the 75,87,100,117 and 120 gr weights. At the 100 grain weight ..SL is 49.5 gr H4831 and max is 54.0 gr Muzzle vel at 3369 from their test rifle

The 117 gr weight bullet ,SL at 48 gr of H4831 and max load at 52 grains with amuzzle vel of 3025fps.

I`d say split the difference for a SL and work up slow looking for any pressure problems..

Classic,

Welcome to the HLB!!!

Just use load data for the 115 gr Ballistic Tip and work up from there watching for the regular signs.  There is alot of data out there for these bullets so you should be able to find plenty to start loading with.

Good Shooting!!

Using the load data for the Berger bullet I would drop that another 2 grains to be on the safe side with the accubond.  The Berger is a very soft match bullet and the thick solid head of the Accubond will increase pressures quite a bit in comparison.

Would probably be safe but I would drop 2 grains off and start there just in case.

Good Shooting!!

Sorry for the late response I was out of town on Business.

Thanks for the info. , what a great resource. I appreciate the help.

I will proceed with the load data and the usual precautions.

FYI - Nosler recommended I use starting 25-06 loads and work up.

Thanks again
