I did not vote.
Who makes the rifle has little to do with how good one can shoot it.

None of the ones listed; I own a Steyr-Mannlicher in .222Rem which is capable of 1,5 cm groops 5 shot/100 meter and a Sauer 202 in .308 which shoots the same.

Regards,

Paul.

My vote is Mauser. My Mauser is a CZ527 American in .223 Rem. When I sighted it in after first getting it I got a group of 3 shots a little over the size of a dime using Black Hills reloads with a 52 gr HP. I was very impressed to say the least.    Gary

I have not seen a tikka that won't shoot.  Savage runs a close second and for the money is one heck of a gun.  I just love the fit feel and results that I get from my tikkas.  I bought one shot it, loved it, and have bought three more in other configurations and calibers.

Weatherby/Howa.   My Vanguard will shoot 190 Hornady SBT three shots in 3/8". I know, I know, the purists will say that three shots are not enough. They are when you're shooting at game. Let's face it, the 300 Weatherby is not thought of as a target cartridge, but then again, why not?

Savage action, but that would be all that is Savage about it.  The list is very long, and the funds took me places I didn't need to go:shameon:

Mine is a bone stock Savage 110 in 22-250.  I'm not even sure how old it is.  Paid $250.  It shoots 1/2 " or less 3 shot, 100 yard groups.  No complaints here!

My most accurate factory rifles come in green boxes. The most accurate factory rifle I have ever owned is my M700 SSDM in 30-06. It is so cosmopolitan that it is hard to believe. I have shot 150's, 165's, 180's and 200's and the last 25, 3-shot groups averaged  .74moa at 100 yards. Since I did not pick and choose groups, there were some well over 1", so you can appreciate that some were mighty small. Next up is my 700 Classic in 300 Savage, with the 150 Partition chased by 45 grains of Reloder 15 always making cloverleafs (all touching) best three shot group measures a measly .040" center to center. Doesn't care much for bullets over 165 grains though. My 700CDL in 270 Winchester is very close with the 140 Accubond and a generous helping of Vihtavuori N165. Average 3-shot group size around ½moa. Best group shot at 400 yards..2¼" This rifle also shoots the 130 Partition and 130 TSX very well. I have a 700 Classic in 8x57 that is a 5/8moa shooter with the 180 Ballistic Tip and a ¾moa shooter with the 200 Accubond. I have a 700 Classic in 7mm Mag that has won "hunter" class at our informal 1000 yard shoot in the spring here at least 3 times. Best group at 1000, 8.25" These are all factory barrelled rifles, since I believe it is unfair to put a custom rifle into the mix. I have/had rifles that sported Krieger, Shilen, Lilja, Pac-Nor, Gaillard, Smith, Lothar-Walther, Hart & Douglas. I expect a custom rifle to perform above the norm. Factory rifles these days are quite impressive, for the most part, accuracy-wise. I would not be worried if I had to choose from one of the many offerings available, but that being said, I still like my 700's. Regards, Eagleye.

My most accurate rifle is a Savage 10FP chambered in 308, shoots 1/2 to 3/4 33 shot groups at 100 yards using Wnichester 175 gr silver tips. Not bad for factory ammo. I loaded some 168 gr HPBT but have not got to shoot it yet. I have had zero work done to this gun as of yet. My DPMS Panther 4 shoots 1 inch 5 shot groups with LC M855 all day long, im pretty happy with this one also.

My old Savage 110 with a glass bedded Douglas barrel in 30-06.  With 150 grain speers I get 1/2" 5 shot groups at 100 yards (have to careful about heating up).  It doesn't like anything above 165 gr.

I see a lot of Savage entries here.
This rifle is a close second in my factory rifles,..It is a modified Savage model 10 Tactical that is supremely lethal with everything I have ever tried in it.165 sst`s are the shit in it and 150 gr Nosler ballistic tips are accurate as can be..
This coyote I shot through the upper chest at 200 yards when he sat down and looked around for a screaming cottontail..

post pics of your rifles fellas..

I build rifles myself for a hobby. I use mostly Remington SAs blueprinted with oversized threads and lugs, hard chromed, 1-8 SS match barrels by Lothar Walther with Kipplinger single set triggers. Right now I like the 260. They shoot in the .13 to .14 range with a 120 Sierra MK over H-414 at 3200 fps.

But if you want to buy a fine rifle, get up with Scott Medisha. I had an AR-10T and bought a 1-8 twist SS K barrel 260 upper by Scott. That beauty shot every bit as good as my bolt guns shoot, in the .13 group sizes range, with 120 MKs at 3200 fps. I was amazed. If you could see it, you could bring the heat and fast. I shot the gun on a 500 meter range in MS the first time I shot it. Dialed in the clicks held bridge of nose and put three quick ones in the left eye socket, bang, bang, bang. Never had a brass slinger that shot that good.

Ed
