Do any of you fellas have a pet load for your .243Win to share.I`ve been playing with Scout`s ,243Win for a while,It is a short barreled rifle.Accuracy wise it seems to like IMR4350 with a host of different bullets.I recall klallen saying he used Varget in his in a certain load.Varget is one powder I have no shortage of.;) I might have to try Varget in his .243 too.

Varget ... Fed 210's ... R-P brass ... 55 gr. BST = 4223 fps
IMR4350 ... Fed 210's ... R-P brass ... 80 gr. BT = 3732 fps
Both extremely accurate loads in my Ruger M77 Mark II VT. The first load, with the 55 gr. Ballistic SilverTip, was the load I used to first break the 500 yd. mark while varminting, years back. Even though I've moved on, in favor of the heavier BT load, that light screamer of a load will always be a special one to me. >> klallen

Well I've loaded for (2) 243 Winchesters in my reloading career - a Remington 700 BDL and a Weatherby Vanguard.
My favorite load for this is as follows:
Winchester Cases trimmed to 2.046 inches
CCI 200 LR Primers
41.5 grains of IMR 4350
95 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips
Cartridge Overall Length: 2.719 in.
Accuracy: at 100 yards I've got two out of three rounds to group center to center 0.165 inches and an overall group size of 0.445 inches center to center
This is a deer load that has worked very well with good bullet performance. I've noticed that in both the Remington and Weatherby liked their bullets seated out pretty far due to long chambers though I can't say what it might do in Ruger rifles.

Thanks for the loads fellas. This short barreled Ruger seems to like 4350,.I bought 6mmGhozt some 75 gr Hornady VMax to shoot when he hunts yotes with me.IMR4350 shoots the 80 grain Sierra SBT`s very well in initial testing.
We are still in the load development stage as far as the choice bullet for his rifle.Appreciate you fellas data.Anybody else shooting a .243 Win, list you favorite loads please..

One of the most accurate loads i have tried in a number of 243 Win is the Hornady 87 gr BTHP with 37.5 gr of IMR4064 and CCI BR-2 . 1/2 min angle from factory barrels.

I have run Korey's 55 bt load and it does work well in my 243.
Mine also likes 45 grains of ADI 2208 with just about any breed of 80 grain projectile at 3337fps.2208 is roughly equivalent to IMR4064.This loads will cut well inside 0.7 and has gone under .200 for 5 shots more then once.
It will drop light game well.It is a ripper on goats and pigs.

55gr nosler ballistic-tip
43gr IMR4895
CCI LR primers
form-fitted Remington Brass
this is what Ive found my custom/homebuilt mauser likes. I dont know the actual fps, but its listed at near 4000fps. I havent found my pet load for the 95gr noslers yet, but will attack that this week, was getting close with 34gr of 4895. Only been at it for a few weeks now (reloading) so Ive got alot more to go.

Hey Jason.....It sounds like you are on the right track bud with those groups you fired with the 55 grain ballistic tips.

worked on some more loads on the 243 with 95gr ballistic silvertips, 32.5grs of IMR4895 put 5 inside an inch at 100 yards, 33 and up actually loosened up the group a bit, Ive loaded some at 31.5 , 32 and 32.5grs and am heading back to the range tomorrow for some more shooting. Also workin on a load for 105gr Amax, put 5 inside 1" with imr4064 but blew a primer when I moved up half a grain. benched the 4064 til my nerve gets back up. The Amaxs specify a 1-9" twist or faster for the 105s I have a 1-10, they say they wont stabilze with slower than 1-10, will see what happens.
